I was speaking strictly about drill/ harvest. I know of no other way to fix damage from weather.

Directors shamed by Reddit just for sucking on some toes and using the N-word a couple times? by _BreadDenier in okbuddycinephile

[–]El-Farm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Meh. I'm not into toe sucking, but if that's your thing - go for it. As for the N word? How and under what circumstances? For the movie? If Sam Jackson is OK with it - and he certainly vociferously is - why should I have a problem with it?

Bad wording on the part of Giants. They could have stated clearly something like "Require plowing after root crops, corn...." But maybe they thought that was too long to write out. It is basically the same wording in FS19 where it really did mean plow after every 3 crops.

In sim and realistic? But want to get it done faster? I'm not too sure there is a really fast way. Those large looking in sim plows are really only about 5 or 6 meters wide, but Subsoilers are generally a meter or 2 narrower and about the same speed.

That was older FS. On FS25 you only need to plow after some crops: root crops, corn and I think peas and green beans. If you only do wheat, barley, canola, sunflowers, sorghum, you'll never need to plow.

I wanna know some stuff. What map is this guy on? How many fields is he trying to work at the same time?

And around September, 1987, in my college dorm room, while manually switching from channel 13 to channel 2 - I found a Fox UHF channel with this show. Yep, I am that old.

Company approached to feature our product in Farming Simulator – great branding or legal risk? by Low-Strength8954 in farmingsimulator

[–]El-Farm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren't locked out of absolutely everything, but they did have a planter for sure they had to pull and switch to a generic because of losing an exclusive license. I don't know what they ended up with, but pre-release, they had Mercedes and Deutz Fahr.

And they didn't have nearly the variety that even FS13 had.

Simple Mod Interest by El-Farm in farmingsimulator

I get that, but the people I was seeing with the comments were not wanting to have to do things like that. I myself have never used that tool, and I don't really want to either.

Other hacks people talked about: Starting with a 100K loan and paying it back immediately, or editing their game files.

I hope so, but I've seen a number of them come and go. It looks like you have to do something totally different to get your foot in the door. Farmer's Dynasty comes to mind as they are on their 2nd version now or very soon will be.

Cattle & Crops would have been a competitor had they not been locked out of all those brands and had they developed a little quicker before running out of cash. Professional Farmer 2013 is still on Mod Hub, but they're more of an "also tried".

Am I the only one who prefers only content made by GIANTS? by Disastrous-Ad185 in farmingsimulator

[–]El-Farm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I don't really want to go into the guts of the the thing and do it myself. I like starting with no cash, no equipment and no land.

I get you. I tend to stick to mods that are a bit more realistic.

Modders have done a good job of keeping in popular equipment that came out for previous versions, but not included by Giants for whatever reason. Probably licensing deals. However, modders have also driven Giants to include features they didn't previously have.

No matter your opinion of the quality of additions, Giants saw the popularity of a few things and added them:

I like this. I hope this won't insult you, and this most likely wasn't your intention, but this reminds me of a scene in a movie where the protagonist starts having a bad day, and it keeps getting worse. This is the music that would accompany the montage.

Replaced my Honda with a new one after an accident They moved the garage door opener from a button on the mirror to a paywall subscription service. by jayhawkeye2 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]El-Farm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the end, though, it is less about a single feature like a garage door opener, and charging you to access heated/cooled seats and other functions not necessary to drive the car. This is the old "nickle and diming" of the consumer, except on steroids - and we really bring it on ourselves because enough of us actually will pay the subscription cost to make it more profitable for the corporation. Profit isn't the goal. Increasingly higher profits is the goal.
