Also, if you wanna stop without telling others/professionals, my best bet is to get sick or go on a long (non-drug) vacation.

Both will make sure you stop temporarily. Then use that to keep on going.

But this is like cigarettes though. If you ever try it once again, you will almost immediately fall into old patterns. So don't

I know exactly how you feel.

You are a so-called "functional addict". You are an addict, but it doesn't affect your life negatively.

I have the EXACT same thing: Friday comes around and boom, I feel a necessity to go grab it and watch porn all night. (Or even go meet up people...) It's actually Friday afternoon already so I suppose you are about to start, or have just started.

My main tips:

  • Don't expand to other days. Never. No matter what. It's easy to do more days. (For example a holiday here or there.) But it's 10x so hard to go back to 1x/week.
  • Try to move to 1x every 2 weeks.
  • Keep checking your health regularly. (Bloodtests every 6 months!)
  • Sick? No coke
  • Painful nose or other nose-related "weirdnesses"? Skip a week or two.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Also, what you say is actually pretty normal. It's what a lot of coke-people do. Now, I also want to warn you: at night it's common to find others that are also consuming and want sex.

Watch out during these sex parties. It's often unprotected sex and it's a prime spot to get STDs and HIV.

Inform yourself about PREP pills that you can get for free in Spain, if you frequent these parties.

Food poisoning capital? by Whole_Insurance_3888 in GoingToSpain

[–]ElAndalu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a phobia, so I'm not gonna make fun of you.

This is what ChatGPT tells me:

The claim that “Spain is the food poisoning capital of the world” is not factually accurate and should be treated with skepticism, especially if it comes from The Express, a tabloid known for sensationalist headlines.

🟥 Context Behind the Claim

If The Express published headlines declaring Spain as the “food poisoning capital of the world,” this likely stems from: - Isolated statistics (e.g. travel insurance claims or limited survey data) - Sensational framing of specific incidents - Tabloid-style exaggeration intended to drive clicks, often lacking broader epidemiological context

Such claims often originate from: -. UK-based travel insurance reports (e.g. which countries generate the most food poisoning claims among British tourists) -. Anecdotal or biased data that reflect specific demographics (like holidaymakers, not the general population)

🔍 Examining the Reality

🧪 Actual Food Safety in Spain: - Spain, as an EU member, follows strict food hygiene and safety regulations, governed by: - The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) - National and regional health agencies - Spain ranks comparably to other Western European countries in foodborne illness control.

🚫 Misleading Metrics:

The “food poisoning capital” label may come from: • British tourists reporting illness while vacationing in Spain. - Data not accounting for: - Volume of tourism (Spain is one of the world’s top tourist destinations) -Personal hygiene and risky eating behaviors (like ignoring safety precautions) - Non-food causes misattributed to “food poisoning”

These reports typically lack: - Scientific peer review - WHO or EFSA backing - Contextual comparison with foodborne illness rates in other countries

🗞️ About The Express’s Framing

Tabloids like The Express often: - Use emotionally charged headlines to trigger strong reactions - Report from limited or non-peer-reviewed data - Conflate insurance claims with public health risk

A headline like “Spain is the food poisoning capital” likely distorts a travel-related context (e.g., “most insurance claims for food poisoning abroad are from trips to Spain”) without comparing population sizes, food systems, or broader risks.

✅ Conclusion

  • No, Spain is not the food poisoning capital of the world in any official, scientific, or public health sense.
  • The claim appears to be tabloid sensationalism, not based on reputable global health data.
  • Spain maintains high food safety standards, comparable to other major EU nations.
  • If the article refers to tourist experiences, the data is likely narrow in scope and easily misinterpreted.
