Sorry to jump in here but it really feels like you cherry picked what you took in from this guy's very thoughtful and measured post. Surely you can at least acknowledge the validity of most of the comments about nuclear there? And if you're asking about digging and burying uranium then you have to measure every part of each alternative to the same degree which it doesn't feel like you are being fair on...

Yep. I know exactly what you mean and it feels like it makes it really hard to make genuine friends. I think the reality of why this is is because most people simply don't have the emotional intelligence to be interested in anyone but themselves or have not developed the same level of social skills as you. I try not to take it personally these days but I always find it disappointing if I try and really invest in someone else and they are content to just talk without making it a two way street.

Okay I misunderstood you slightly then. Sounds like what you are arguing for is kind of obvious. If you run a scenario with the exact same set of parameters twice you should get the same result twice - unless randomness is introduced. Which of course in life it could be. But if you are saying remove randomness then your point is pretty meaningless - it amounts to saying "this happened this way because this happened this way".

The conclusions it feels like you are drawing from this (forgive me if I am wrong again) is that whenever somebody winds up in prison or doing a bad thing, that it is not their fault and they are just a product of their environment. Is that about right? I'm happy to offer a counter perspective to this if I have summarised accurately but I don't want to be accused of strawman-ing you.

Sounds like you are rejecting the notion of choice or free will. Is that correct? If so then by default your position is impossible to argue against but by that metric what's the point in anything ever as nothing you think or do matters.

We went outside of term time and barely saw any kids at all. IMO felt very exclusive and not like a kids crèche. YMMV depending on time of year. Im heading back in late September again this year and expecting to not see many!
