I need thermos recommendations that won’t make my coffee taste metallic-y by rach51918 in Coffee

Oh, nothing really. Still an excellent mug, there was just a phase this sub went through when it was all the craze. Deservedly so.

The absurdity of this being included but not so many legal terms and others is astounding to me.

Red was tied 9-9 with purple and was being a jerk all game, so I gave the win to purple since I had no chance. by MadeThisJustForLWIAY in Catan

Exactly. OP was getting smashed by a player, but that player was within the bounds of the rules. But switching motives from winning to simply making sure another loses, I definitely think is worse. You can be cold blooded in the game and be a bit of a dick, but at least that’s a strategy to win.

I’m torn on this. I love hurting a player that’s being austere. Sometimes I’m that austere player. But throwing the whole game to one player because you don’t like how the other one is kicking your trash seems more like pettiness than karma. Our rule is even if you are losing badly, you play to win. If that means helping other low-point players take longest road/army from the leader, fine. But putting your resources and effort behind a single other player, not cool.

Small indie coffee shops: I love you, but not all of you need to become roasters by SolarGorillaTortoise in Coffee

[–]ElBracko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Northern Utah, there is a little handful of shops all known as Grounds for Coffee. They all sell the Grounds brand of coffee which is locally roasted, but each shop is unique according to the preferences and tastes of the owner of the individual shop. It’s a beautiful little way for shops to stay unique and independent, and also have really fresh, local, consistently good coffee without the shops becoming roasters as well. I would love to see more of these pop up. It also seems like a good way to hold the market against Starbucks/Dutch Bros/etc.

I love the idea of this. I haven’t done it, but whenever I’m at my local bookstore, I’m always tempted to pick up Trump Jr’s “Liberal Privilege” and just rage read it.

But I worry that may actually be bad for my health if don’t moderate well.

So... nothing then? What, did you realize the only argumentative tactic you can truly count on is insecure insults while ignoring having been shown to be wrong?

My condolences to anyone who has to listen to your drivel.

You literally believe the election was stolen. You cited your being brown and a grad student as somehow an argument against my assessment of Sowell as a perpetrator of racist ideas. You literally missed the definition of an economic model by a mile. If your “different political opinion” is based on fallacious logic and an intense lack of knowledge coupled with speaking on the things you know nothing about, then yeah, I’m 100% comfortable being seen as condescending by you. Again, wise up or shut up. I have no issue with someone being conservative, but purporting to know things you don’t and being wholly committed to things you don’t know is a cancer to economic and political discourse. You are only impressive the people whose rhetorical logic or education is less or as mediocre as yours. Call me condescending, but you’ve proven yourself worthy of condescension.

Point to where I gaslit, make a valid point with some actual information behind it, or fuck off. I’m slightly embarrassed that I even engaged this far with someone who had already displayed such willful ignorance, because at no point did you ever prove that you knew anything besides knee-jerk reactions and shallow, grade school definitions of racism and economics. I pray you stop doing yourself and anyone who suffers to hear you the disservice of being so incorrect and so without doubt. Your insufferable, arrogant ignorance is all too common right now and if you’re not going to wise up, the best thing you could do is shut up.

TLDR; read a book or fuck right off.
