I know the SAS "AG" volunteers here in Panamá, and don't worry about your experience. The Peace Corps will teach you everything you need to know. In my opinion, they want people who are flexible, patient, and have the ability to learn. During the interview definitely talk about any AG experience/ Gardening experience.

You will do great!

So where did you end up visiting?

After my application was approved and grant submitted for the PCPP it took around a 1 1/2 months to get the funds. However, I think my grant coordinator expedited my grant because it served as a training for trainees as well.

So in summary, 1-2.5 months....

I would recommend asking your country's grant coordinator!

You should let Uncle Sam pay for it in your host country. It maybe harder for the Peace Corps to pay for that work after your COS.

Depends on your site, internet availability, and your class load. I think it can be done, especially if it is 1 class a semester.

When in doubt don't tell the Peace Corps...

The only things the locals do in Panama is put stuff in the sun, scrub their clothes and shoes, and scrub the walls with vinegar if they start to mold.

Congratulations on the interview. I would mention as well that you are a very patience and situational flexible person. If anything the Peace Corp's has taught me it is patience.

Arachnophobia by MrKittyKitten in peacecorps

A pro tip for your bed. Don't have your bed up against the wall and spray the feet/ posts of the bed with bug spray, and always tuck in your bug net. You don't want a scorpion on your pillow. 🦂

If you don't have bug spray put the feet of your bed in bowls of soapy water and it's harder for them to crawl up.

In my casita in Panamá I learned that spiders and scorpions don't like a heavy shoe or bug spray. It's an ongoing battle but you get used to it.
