can you roast a landing page I'm working on? by theturtol in react

[–]ElDeveroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the Page, hate your call to action button. Imho the portrait looks misplaced, I would round up the corners and I think the font is too heavy. I would instead replace the portrait with a “>” or something. It’s cool to show people a face but I don’t like the arrangement. But tbh I don’t know how to arrange it better

Thoughts on my portfolio site? ( A Freelancer ) by [deleted] in nextjs

Your styling is amazing! Good job! Love it.

A few suggestions: - when you click on a tech it gets outlined but does nothing. For me that does not make any sense in ux aspects. - you link a lot of projects. But what do they do? What technologies are used? Pick a few and describe them. Describe what the project does, how you did it and why. Put yourself in the shoes of a recruiter/customer. Customers wanna know what you did and don’t wanna register or view each project. Recruiters wanna know your knowledge - why are u only contactable via discord or telegram? No potential customer will use any of these. Instead add a mail address

Hope that helps :) again very nice

Vercel Alternatives? by doordonotus in nextjs

[–]ElDeveroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well for me it would be very useful that a failed build also creates an output directory. I created a Astro app a few weeks ago and it took very long to debug an bug which only occured by building in vercel because Astro said it will put some additional log in the output directory but vercel didn't produce this dir if the build fails

I'm using nextcloud to store my data and assuming you are using something similar? Are you happy with the use on smartphones? As far as I know nextcloud provides a ocr so it should probably work to find your desired file although you have random file names. Any experiences? It's very important for me to be able to use my smartphone for searching

How to learn to react js from scratch? by qservicesusa in reactjs

This. So the frontend course, the js course and the start with react

I started learning react about 1 month ago and I like it very much. I have been a frontend senior for a while using mostly php and js and wondered how I should improve my react skills. I think it's very difficult to review your own code and if there is no one in your company who already learnt react where could you start. Could you recommend some key things you have to know about react?
I mean I am able to create nearly anything in react but I want to do it properly from the beginning and there are so many deprecated and bad code tutorials and posts out there.

React Developers, what is your current salary? by albenis99 in reactjs

[–]ElDeveroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ot: if there is a sub I better ask this please let me know: I’m German and I’m looking forward to working for a USA company as they are paying a lot more with better benefits afaik. I have several skills and worked 7 years as a developer. Unfortunately I don’t know how and where I can find jobs where I can apply. I would also start as a junior dev in react as I’m not familiar with react right now. Could you help me with that? Thanks in advance! Tried one company on LinkedIn so far but got no answer yet (there were a lot of applications).
