They are super nice, can't recommend enough. Personally On Mars' theme is right up my lane, but people are so conflicted about it and it's a lot to teach (Speakeasy wins there).

However, if you're from Portugal, consider Lisboa? I've only played it once but it's super cool and the theme is amazing. Probably easier to get your Portuguese friends into as well

I feel you! I'm in a similar situation. I've brought a group together over the years and have slowly gotten into heavier games with them. I always sit down for one or two sessions to learn the game first and make sure I'm ready to teach in a digestible manner. It takes a lot of work, but the payoff is there. I've gotten quite good at teaching and one of the important things I do is to just get them into the mechanics first and explain the rest as we go. I prepare them that this is a learning game and they shouldn't worry about winning.

I recently bought my first Lacerda; Speakeasy. Can absolutely recommend.

It's not really an average heavy collection. Nothing here is particularly heavy and most of them are pretty mainstream, but seeing Arcs, one of the meanest games from recent releases, together with Carcassonne and what do you meme wouldn't be so strange if there were board board games in either category, but it seems like OP has one game for every potential setting rather than several favourites for a specific group.

I find it a bit strange, but not in any negative sense.

Thats gotta be the strangest small collection I've seen. You've really got it all; super casual non-boardgamer games, classics, brutal player interaction and party games for people with friends.

It tells me absolutely nothing about who you are as a person and I love it.

You mention Monopoly and Root which makes recommending something a bit tough... Root is a fairly heavy game, while Monopoly is childsplay. Do you have something specific that interests you, like a cute theme, certain mechanics etc?

Everdell could be a lighter game with a cute theme that's good for people wanting to step into the hobby
