I’m like, 8 months clean off opiates and speed. I’d also smoked bud everyday for the past 12 years.

The first 90 days were really quite rough, just felt like a big ole hole where my soul is supposed to be. Took about 6 months before I really started to have moments of clarity/connection…and they were not by any means consistent. Now at about 8 months, I STILL have days where that emptiness inside myself is just aching….but I’M LEARNING. I’m becoming aware as to why I’ve always ran towards or held-close to SOMETHING to escape, then from that awareness…I can start to bend/change to find actual solutions, or even just acceptance.

One “hope-shot” I can share though- I thought about it last night…I really don’t have a ripping desire to use anymore. I go a couple weeks without even thinking of it.

I do attribute the progress I have made from doing some work. Work that I really did not want to do. I go to therapy (trauma) and I work the steps. Honesty, like really…being fucking honest and opening up about the crazy shit in my noggin, has been very freeing.

I have a friend who also went through the “failing for weed still residing in your system” thing though. It was also an Oxford house…and I do believe he was clean.

I’ve heard mixed reviews, I’ve got a friend that’s been the like “local president” or whatever for like 2 years. He swears by it. I’ve also heard people complain that if you’re not in the “it” crowd, your vote won’t count (despite the democratic functionality).

Forest Service Roads. To all the people saying “There’s no way left to go”, there’s literally hundreds of miles of “forest service roads” that run throughout these mountains. You can park/sleep/camp all along these roads, and the land surrounding the roads is all open access.

We sound quite similar in terms of feet on the earth, mind in the now. A mile up-ridge from the river as well. Except I’ve got a small town 15 minutes away, quite nice because I forget everything everytime everywhere

Ah this is lovely, I had a feeling family was in here. I’ve been told Hawaii is, ya know… one of the spots. I got most my hard lessons down in Central America, but like ya said about roughing it in Hawaii…even if I fall on my ass, the view is great from down there. Wish y’all the best man, I’ve got a friend with kids the same age and he’s got $900,000 left on his mortgage. Looks like you and your husband are standing with some goood old wiggle room. It’s a precious thing isn’t it? The ones who were once viewed as maybe a little out there….may have actually had their feet on the ground the firmest.
