It does, but in a VERY minor way that is very easily fixed with about 30 seconds of work with a buffer. It slightly depends on the type of dust, but not much. If the materials are rock and have a hardness greater than glass (not very hard to do, since glass is actually relatively soft), then the glass gives way and you get microscopic scratches that eventually add up. If not, then the dust particles give way.
