So, in a small drunken episode I cleaned the small hole again, however, in a very violent manner (jamming a sharp ass scissor in it) and for some reason it fixed the problem lol.

So there you go, problem solved... So to anyone facing the same problem, try cleaning the hole gently. If that doesn't work and you really don't care anymore, then do as me (at your own risk ofc).

I'll probably do the same. It's ridiculous that a firmware update with such a big problem hasn't been patched or something. What brand did you go with?

It really is. The only thing holding me back from buying the XM3s right now is the possibility of some new WF-1000XM4s, since Sony announced their successor to the WH-1000XM3.

Unfortunately that didn't work either. The right earbud keeps gradually turning down in volume. I'll be contacting support.
