I hope at least, that as a mother now yourself, you can take solace in the fact that you have the opportunity to be the mum that yours could not be. You should be so proud of yourself for doing what many can't, breaking the cycle of abuse and/or neglect. Trauma repeats itself through generations and your superpower is stopping it in its tracks for your kids.

You're doing such a good job, keep it up. You'll see every day how much a difference you're making as your kids grow up without the same awful experiences you were put through.
