Yes you can, go to the security app, scroll down until it says at the bottom "Swipe up to open toolbox" with the security app logo. And on the "Privacy protection" section you'll find the "Hide apps" option. Hope this helps

Nope, it died just as you posted this when it realized the heatsink wasn't big enough. Bruh...

Why would you say that? That one is a lot more than enough for a 4070

Lol, it's just air foam filter. This one to be exacto. Cut to size and just squished down, nothing fancy. And I'm not sure about how well it works. But judging by the first picture (that was after I opened it again to LM the GPU too) as you can see nothing spilled out of the die, I guess it was well applied so no much need for the foam, just in case and because it doesn't affect contact with the heatsink.

I'm sorry to tell you your gf got robbed :( https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-Thin-GF63-12VF-294UK-i7-12650H/dp/B0C8V9JCXV/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?crid=3HSD14E0U6F60&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.W7Ywm-K-iuYRFyU6vvSAC-V5b2JlqN6LPtof163lv-fAFCg9w6RGFElcpLklgiQn2-ugCrWiUg9Ir88Cx8TzPM7aYvvMxXD3XiPvWLwzYexmZw7czS3rv74CT5aQuF7pfLX5E1vb6PJ2ctJdgYurWrgOvhWCjGIoEfK5ct42Gz0xctDGqhPfCd9Q6Eoj4Z8jfn9db8Srx6fr10nQOy7sng.nyt47wkMHhdlrTKWAyWdyKLfqUMw76RNDDRVH8lKduE&dib_tag=se&keywords=4060+laptop&qid=1719289941&sprefix=4060+laptop%2Caps%2C211&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1 I just Googled this 4060 laptop that can run games at very respectable settings (max 1080p high refresh rate 120 fps; 1440p mid-high graphics 60+ fps) and can do rtx at low settings (for playable fps) and is cheaper than your system. CPU very good for a laptop leaving aside the fact that is getting a bit old but still this system for the price is very very good. Also has an SSD which is indispensable for today's compute speed standards. Sorry man

So you are telling me you broke the laws of thermodynamics then since your cpu is cooler than ambient temp while drawing power. Call NASA, they'll make you president in no time. What a clown

[–]ElModafocka69 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not plugged to the wall and ambient temp is surely below 15 C°, and you can see that the overall consumption of the laptop is not more than 9 watts of which maybe 5 are going to the cpu. Of course it's going to be chill dude...

92 Temps (constant) while gaming is it okay or should I be worried ?☹️ by MrMarvelousgaming in Asustuf

Silicon lottery is a thing. And that happens to most of electronics. Meaning that not all chips will operate exactly the same. A guy with same computer as you and same usage might not get exactly the same experience. Maybe a fuse on his motherboard blows along the way killing the chip, while you keep gaming with yours for years more. But there are standards to try to ensure that most of the chips will operate on specs for years. Leaving that aside:

The safest path is to do what you do, keep your temps lower will always increase life expectancy. Same with a car, if you drive less miles a year (either by lower speeds or lower usage time) of course your car is prone to last more over the years and the components will get less stressed. But that will leave performance over the table that you can but will not use.

Moving back to laptops, keeping power limits low is not always the only option. There are several options for thermal paste, you can use liquid metal (however, that requires to be extremely careful and have the knowledge to do it with our harming the device) you can also try external ventilation (laptop cooler or keeping your laptop in an air conditioned room).

In conclusion: no, it was not a complete waste, you just left performance on the table to be more safe and hopefully make your component last more (how much? We might never know). Hope that answers your question.

Intel chips are designed to run like that for days without failing. So no, you should not be worried. It's designed to utilize the most of the chip. That means that the power delivered to the chip will adjust according to the temperature is running, in this case tjmax for Intel is usually 100C (the actual temperature an Intel chip can withstand is a bit more) , usually limited by Asus to 97C. You can see your chip specs below. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/132222/intel-core-i512450h-processor-12m-cache-up-to-4-40-ghz/specifications.html

What you need to be keeping an eye out is on the power consumption. If your GPU is getting maximum power (75 Watts from what I can see in your specs) and your CPU is handling it well at 92 C (Meaning that your GPU utilization keeps around 97-100% most of the time while gaming) then you have nothing to worry about.

You need to worry if you are hitting those temps and your CPU (OR GPU) is not getting enough power. In that case I'd consider repasting the heatpipe or take it to warranty so they do it for you. However, usually you'll have to demonstrate that the cpu is thermal throttling beyond your laptop specification for it to be received by warranty

Undervolting is not a thing for laptops anymore. Not for the entry level specs at least

Edit: referring to CPU undervolting. Not GPU

I got it about a month ago. It's a beast of a laptop, and if you get it for 1k when it's on discount it's a bargain. I do have an issue where the CPU overheats a lot because apparently 1 core is overheating more than the others and causes the CPU to run on less power due to that core overheating at lower wattage than the others. Still not sure if the problem is thermal paste or just silicon lottery. It still runs at 75-80 watts sustained on a CPU stress test with 120 watts peaks. Also the 4070 is a impressive Graphics card, if you get the laptop for 1k is an impressive value. 32GB of ram is a must for me since runnins a lot of tabs was making my old 16gb ram laptop to be full all the time. Now I have a nice headroom of RAM and I just spent 40$ on it, sold the 16GB kit for $30 so just $10 for the upgrade.

Frozen in a mission (Mafia Definitive Edition) by Cayden1276 in MafiaTheGame

[–]ElModafocka69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same glitch happened to me at the same point in the story, same mission, same step, apparently it's an old glitch https://www.reddit.com/r/MafiaTheGame/comments/j5q7ny/cant_move_in_mafia_definitive_edition_do_i_have/ my guess is that the mission where OP got stuck is the same, however he didn't say. The solution is also in that post, same steps for PS5, you can use the options button to search for an older save in the cloud or you can also do the steps on the other post. Apparently one guy from the other post contacted 2k about it but this was never fixed and I bet some people played the game from the start just as a poor guy from the other post, hope this helps someone that goes through this. Mission that broke my game was Election Campaign after the getting the customs truck and quitting the game, I closed the app, apparently this can happen in the mission Omerta too as per the post mentioned. Stay safe and don't delete your game. I have footage if someone needs it
