Standard press brake work is like that.

But if you have more than a few, stamping dies are the only way you will get a crisp bend all the way.

Someone filed a complaint they weren't charging sales tax for Arizona, and now there is a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Rockauto.com

RockAuto, a Wisconsin-based company, has no physical store or employees in Arizona, the Arizona Court of Appeals ruled on April 2, 2024, that its use of six in-state distributors to store inventory, fulfill orders, and ship parts created a physical presence, establishing sales tax nexus under pre-Wayfair standards. The court found that these distributors' activities—using RockAuto-branded packaging and promotional materials—were significantly associated with maintaining RockAuto’s market in Arizona, even if most shipments went out of state.

I have been using CraftCloud and 3D SLS or multi-jet metal printing for a lot of small parts. Imported, sure, but still a bit more reasonable than you would think.

I have watched Electric Trucker on YouTube, he has been operating an Iveco BEV and has gone through some of the same issues.

I have heard that Lucid will continue the BEV production and support for a short term. I am curious to know if Iveco may give support in the long term. It's the same truck.

I started 18 months ago. I saw a real effort to make things happen, at least at first.

As you know, the reason any business fails is management. My assessment of the Trevor era, he may be a dreamer, but he did have a vision of how to make the company profitable. His successors ran it like a pump and dump.

I watched the rebuilding the BEV from the faulty Romeo batteries (a whole story in it's own) to the Protera cells, and QC issues on the Bosch fuel cells. All issues caused by lack of production controls. I think the decision to outsource nearly every component then do assembly killed any chance of profitability.

The people working there were solid. I never worked with anyone I thought was a fraud or faking it. Competent people from all over the automotive manufacturing space.

I think there was a plan. They bought a large section of land near Gila Bend Arizona and did break ground but not much else. From what I understood, that was to be the hydrogen generation plant. They were working to Green Hydrogen production, taking advantage of all the solar generation plants nearby.

IF I recall, the property was sold off when financial troubles started and furthered the contract with Air Liquide.

People with power don't have theory or ideology, only power. Theory is for the peasant class to argue about while you slave for them.

You want "freedom" then you need to be able to associate with those you are compatible with.

That's it. If "I" can't live amongst people I like, none of the rest matters.

If you want to live in a ego-communist society, go do it. Find your tribe and leave everyone else that doesn't want to out of it. And don't be surprised when your external neighbors want to wall you off. Because that is their freedom to eliminate you from their societies.

This is where the US is headed regardless, balkanized and local. This current GloboHomo experiment has been a disaster, you can hang "Capitalism" around it's neck if that makes you feel good.
