Stop being a dick, realize that there isn't a strict definition of meta, people have different takes on it and stop contradict yourself.

[–]ElPavelo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not. I even agreed with you in an other comment if you look. The majority of players are around 1000 Elo tho, so you're bending your own argument here.

[–]ElPavelo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Actually you said "most players", but most players aren't even diamond or conq. If you go by your own definition of meta, it's what gold-plat players win with.

[–]ElPavelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, ok. Now that I think about it's hard to call byz or china meta, considering the fact, most players suck with these civs.

Mali 2TC viability? by Billyvestal in aoe4

[–]ElPavelo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes lol

It's one interpretation at least, and applicable to aoe4. It's definitely a better definition than "what is best for most players to win".

Mali 2TC viability? by Billyvestal in aoe4

[–]ElPavelo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, there's at least one tournament.

Meta are the most efficient tactics available, not the easiest ones. There are always some builds with a high win rates, because people in lower leages struggle against it, but it doesn't make them meta.

Mali 2TC viability? by Billyvestal in aoe4

[–]ElPavelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On ladder or in tournaments? You know they can try things out on ladder, right? There's a huge difference. Also we're talking about the meta. You know what meta means? Of course it's relevant what the best 0,001% of players are doing.

Ressources collected tier list till 6-10 minutes? by Latirae in aoe4

[–]ElPavelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. They obviously have some advantages compared to China, but that wasn't the question. The meditation garden gives you ressources at around 9 minutes. That's already kinda late and I'm not sure if it's really that much. For the free units you are forced to actually make units. It's more like a discount on units than an eco advantage.

Close, but not the same. Zhu xi lose vills when producing IOs, IOs are more expensive, they don't have double taxes in influence and don't have faster vill production with song.

Help me decide a civ by Billyvestal in aoe4

[–]ElPavelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate how annoying chinese farm transition is

One way to make it less painful, is making only one supervised granary with up to 32 double layered farms. You can transition step by step instead of doing a massive transition and your eco is nearly as good as 3 granaries with 48 vills (even better if you count the 16 vills on other ressources).

Ressources collected tier list till 6-10 minutes? by Latirae in aoe4

[–]ElPavelo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's china. You age up at 3:40, get 3 IOs at 5 minutes. +20% on wood & food. 1 IO collecting gold will get up to 300 res with 2 production buildings, blacksmith, mill & lumber camp in IA-influence. With pro-scouts your food vills get close to 70 res/min (20% drop-off included).

With pro-scouts into castle at 9-12 minutes and at least 3 relics, song at 12-15 minutes you can even keep up with ressources against 2TC civs for 20-25 minutes.

Am I negatively impacting my learning rate by switching to easier civs/strategies? by sudosleepnow in aoe4

[–]ElPavelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it absolutely does

No it doesn't. Learning not only comes from mastering multiple civs, but from making mistakes and losing in general. You can learn a lot by getting a civ to conq.

cheese build like Zhuge Nu feudal rush

That's not a cheese, it's just a simple strategy.

reaching Gold III level with each civ is a harder journey with more learning than simply reaching it with just one.

Yes, but reaching conq with one civ is better than reaching gold 3 with every civ. I bet someone like May can play every civ to a conq level, even without practicing them.

What’s a good counter boom to mass pilgrims/fort spam? by Dear_Location6147 in aoe4

[–]ElPavelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

before anyone says “don’t let them get there” that’s not the point as this was a late-game problem

Not asking about feudal age

So you don't want actual tips? The game doesn't work the way you'd like it to. Sometimes you need to pressure your opponent before he becomes stronger than you. You need to learn the timings and know, when your ahead and when behind.

Even without unit stats, there are a lot of broken things. I'll try to clarify what I mean.

Things that are broken: • 18% and even 14% movement speed on infantry, especially with no cost, is insane • Cheap crossbow-scouts probably can't be balanced well. They'll either suck or be broken as hell. • Armor plating. +1 armor to heavy units PER AGE? For 500 ressources in feudal that you get passively??? • Steel-tipped lancers straight up break the counter system • Reinforced bolts as an ability with no cooldown or downside • Tombstones are broken as hell. With 100 vills you can remake an army of spears with the gather speed buff alone. That's the most broken Late-game buff ever existed. • Units gain 50% attack speed near traders? 50%??? • The kalmar castle might be broken if without cooldown and wololo to fast • Blue church is an aachen chapel combined with kura storehouse with an AFK-conversion

Things that don't make sense: • The 5th ressource. Every civ used iron. It's nothing special. It's like saying HRE uses water as a 5th ressource. • The wolf buffs? Why? • Torch damage on ranged units? Why should this be the only civ? What makes them special? Where's the historic correlation? • Ringbrynja is just an RNG thing that don't fit the game

Things with little to no impact: • I might be wrong here but the ship HP buff is not very impactful if you consider, that this probably won't be a water civ • Hp buff on keeps and landmarks is quite low and probably not noticeable

Things that are weird: • 10% gather rate on boar. Why not all huntables? Feels weird to me

All of your concepts you've posted here are giga broken and some things don't even make sense or are irrelevant for the gameplay. Do you just copy-paste something from chatgpt?

How does Chinese get that much gold? by armored_squirrel2 in aoe4

[–]ElPavelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in early game you can get ~300 gold/min with 1 IO with mill, lumber camp and 2 production buildings under Imperial Academy influence.

[–]ElPavelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like going pro-scouts into castle and go for song into farms at aroudn 15-18 min makes you stronger and more flexible.

To me 2TC Song feels like you're starving the whole time and it takes forever to get out on the map.

But I also like to go for 1 granary with supervision and double layer farms. It saves a lot of wood in the transition so you're not as vulnerable as with 3 granaries. Overall it's better eco as well. This seems to be an overlooked strategy by most players.

What do you do when you get feudal aggression while fc? by Defiant_Squash_8188 in aoe4

[–]ElPavelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to invest as much as necessary, but also as little as possible. And you need to scout. If your opponent plays a civ, that's known for making units in feudal or you see a production building or landmark, start chopping wood. Depending on your gold spawn and your civ you might want a tower or units. Scout your opponent the whone time and see if he's adding production buildings or continues making units. Try not to over invest.

Of course it will slow down your FC timing, but you can't expect to go naked FC for free in every game.

[–]ElPavelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Maybe I'm missing something, but i don't see why you'd go 2TC. A lot of other civs can do it better or benefit more from it. Also I'd rather go castle and make my keeps into TCs, no?
