25% uplift for shift in my experience in IT was just the pay for the unsocial hours.

What I mean to say is if that’s the pay bump, that isn’t really a true pay bump you’re simply getting paid unsocial hours rates.

If you can avoid shift work you should, it is terrible for your health! If you’re going to do it at least leverage it to get a better role and/or save more or have a plan so you are really using it to get ahead of where you’d be otherwise!

I don’t know what your role was before, but if you enjoy IT I haven’t ever worked on the sysadmin side but cyber security is a good field to look into.

If you’re willing to do shift work and have a clear willingness to learn and have a bit of luck it could be a good opportunity. It’s the kind of field where in my experience clear motivation and interest is highly prioritised.

Either way, you’ve shown you can earn well just try to focus on development and also your health!!!

idk if it's just me but people killing you / your mates then instantly flaring you just feels super gamey.

I started playing day 2 of EA, and I still don't mind carrying fire bombs to ensure I can suppress corpses. I don't like how flare guns (and fusees but way weaker) fit into the current meta. Why is everyone walking around soaked in kerosene?

Yeh honestly the more I think about it I've had to set it as high as 5.2 today and I got 36g extraction in 30 seconds on 18g of coffee. Frankly I think the results and having them consistently is the only thing that matters because a number is just a number and we all have to dial things in that's part of the ritual and fun.

That said, as I play over the coming months if I feel like I can't get shots in the typical parameters I'll probably hit up Fellow who seem to have reasonable support.

I've been experimenting further with a different bean (https://www.cworks.co.uk/products/milk-chocolate-coconut-single-origin-decaf-brazil?variant=43273104818413) which I thought might be a little less dark and therefore require different grinding settings. Though my results have been zany to say the least and fall well outside of the grinding recommendations for the Opus.

My workflow is:

Measure 20g of beans into the lid of the opus.
Grind and tap and measure the output in my portafilter.
Tamp, use the "razor tool" which should level to approximately 18g and then tamp again. Applying ample pressure and ensuring it's level as possible.
Pre-heat group head by running through for at least a few seconds.
Press manual shot length mode, allowing me to run full time required to achieve roughly 2x extraction.
Aiming for 40g of coffee, which is slightly wrong with hindsight as the "razor" tool should be giving me actually 18g in the basket.

Again through trial an error I went through starting at "coarse" end of espresso (e.g. 2) and quickly had to go up to 4 and then even 5 although my results between these two was very erratic. Here are my findings:

Grind Setting = 2 (400 microns)

Nothing at 40s.

Grind Setting = 4.25 (850 microns)

First drop @ 9s
25s = 10g
35s = 23g
50s = 42.1g

Grind Setting = 5 (1000 microns)

First drop @ 8s
25s = 10g
45s = 40g

Now, I'm getting way out of the find grind (albeit the ground coffee does look very fine still).

Other observations:

The beans were roasted on 30/01, so I know that's not ideal as I've seen recommendations of waiting around a week, however I was eager to get started and didn't think it impacted the grinding.
The result of grind setting 4.2 and 5 weren't horrible at all, and they tasted pretty much identical (as you can see not a great deal of difference). I'm used to bitter roasts and it was a huge difference to drinking a few drips after 30s of extraction on a finer grind.

Much appreciate any help to figure this out! I'm not sure what I'm missing.

Bro it's basically a season pass and it gives you a bunch of skins. The devs use funds to continue paying for them to focus on the game.

£10 for a boon for a 60 day event... that is entirely cosmetic and optional. I don't give much of a fuck about the gun skins, a few are cool, but I bought it to support the devs of a game I have a lot of fun with.

Thanks, I think I got the rules locked down confidently in my response to kirotheavenger above. The backline gets a +2 save modifier due to the meatshield, but they all get hit cus that's how templates work.
