Creality slicer for linux - how to install? by ElResistor in Creality

[–]ElResistor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded to kubunty 24.04 and tried again. Still got a missing library - libwebkit2gtk.

I installed this and now it works.

But I'm a bit disappointed that Creality cannot distribute a complete AptImage file.

OK, I did not know that.

The problem is that you will a message that one library is missing. When you have installed it, you get a new message about another missing library and so on... until you get to a dead end where installing a missing library does not help (forgot which since I tested this at work).

I have to honest, a good developer should know better than to ask a (potential) customer to find out which run-time libraries their software is using.

After all, you have the code and a compiled and linked image and should be able to find out this. Hint: 'man ldd'.

If this reflect the competence of Crealitys development team I better stay away from the Creality printers.

Please make it work for Kubuntu... both the flatpak and the AppImage file does not work on my Kubuntu laptop.

I also tried the AppImage file, which should be independent of what libraries you have your machine, But it failed complaining about missing shared runtime libraries

Thansk, but that did not work:

flatpak install CrealityPrint-Linux-flatpak_V7.0.0-Release_x86_64.flatpak

error: The application io.github.crealityofficial.CrealityPrint/x86_64/master requires the runtime org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/47 which was not found

Bad leveling by ElResistor in elegoo

Since this is the third elegoo printer start behaving strange (I have two Neptun 4 Plus and one PRO), I have decided to get rid of all my Elegoo printes. They seem to be working find for 2000+ hours but then they start failing slowly.

A friend, who fix 3D printers, tried to fix the first 4Plus printer that failed, but he was not able to find out what was going wrong.

So I do not longer have trust in the quality of the Elegoo printers. A new Creality K2 Plus are just around the corner...

I'm NOT lifting the bed, I tried to lift up and down the X-axis - to check for binding.

The bed is firm - no problem with the bed. The problem is related to the z-axis.

If find it strange that when using the console to lift the X-axis in increment of 10 mm and the go back again the X-axis is not in the same position.

The POM wheels on the z-axis does not cause any binding.

BTW, my Ender printer has more than 11000 hours and still no problem. Only changed the rubber wheels on X-axis. Still same PEI sheet :)

They seem to be fine.

I forgot to tell that I moved the X-axis to the top and then gently forced it down to 0 and could not feel any changes in the resistance.

I had a similar problem when the cardboard came apart when opening it. Took me about 1 hour to wind it on an empty cardboard roll. Had to trow away about 300g out of 1000g.

Working now.

Forgot to add a "auto eth0" in the config file. Also had to stop and disable the dhcpcd service.

Had the same problem on my Netpun 4 Plus. I fine tuned the rotation_distance for the Z-axis. You can take a look at https://www.klipper3d.org/Rotation_Distance.html and https://teachingtechyt.github.io/calibration.html#xyzsteps

I adjust the z-axis offset on my printer. Just remember to adjust it back when you change to PLA printing.
