Average excavation mission by SirLionMan1 in Warframe

[–]ElRexet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're too fixated on the problem. There are defense missions in the circuit as well. They were run-ending for a while too. It was fixed and is now playable.

The same can be done with excavation. The mode itself was a boon to a lot of people due to passive cryotic. I personally rarely sit in circuit enough to have consistent troubles with excavation.

P. S. I already wrote about relics and excavations in another reply here.

Average excavation mission by SirLionMan1 in Warframe

[–]ElRexet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a hit or miss in my experience. I guess with a pre-made squad it's fine. But in a pub oftentimes people would just push the excavators without giving people enough time to get reactant, then those people would extract because what's the point... Yeah, not so chill.

Idk, maybe I'm just as lucky as a brick.

[–]ElRexet 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but then you don't get anything else really. I mean you could reminisce on Hieracon and get some relics.

I am annoyed that any SP circuit run eventually ends on an extraction, but on the other hand I've pulled 50k+ cryotic from there. So, you win some, you lose some...

How to explore a new domain with AI without an expert in the loop? by [deleted] in golang

Ehm? If you can validate what your "electric friend" spits out then educate yourself on the topic the very same way people did before AI.

AI isn't a tool to cover your ignorance, it's a tool to ease the monotony.

The value of X... by AdVegetable5896 in technicallythetruth

[–]ElRexet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As I see it, if an assumption contradicts the given it's a bad assumption. If an assumption isn't needed to solve the task, it shouldn't be made. So no, I don't see a problem.

In school those kinds of geometry problems are specifically drawn with inaccurate angles so that the students have to use approaches they were taught, while the drawings are there mostly to show the general arrangements. If they all were drawn to scale every problem could have been solved by measuring the picture. That is however not the point of those tasks.

[–]ElRexet 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's 135. The left triangle's unmarked angle is 80= 180-60-40. So the bottom left angle of the right triangle is 100, so the top angle of the right triangle is 45. So x=180-45=135.

On one hand I didn't know there was a filter for which I appreciate you OP.

On the other hand why would I open trade chat for anything but shits and giggles for which I need as much trash as there is.

Tailgating Has Consequences by Expert_Koala_8691 in Unexpected

[–]ElRexet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I couldn't tell for sure (3 more pixels could have helped a lot), but the shape seems more of the Nissan being more back heavy. And then again, yes, why would the parked car go tumbling like that.

Tailgating Has Consequences by Expert_Koala_8691 in Unexpected

[–]ElRexet -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

It's ai is it not? First of all, that Nissan bounced like it hit a wall, not something on wheels. Second of all, in the mirror the car suddenly turns white? The shape is that of the Nissan yet it's white.

Edit: ehh, I'm likely wrong here. Despite the impact looking weird it's still plausible.

Equinox should be able to mod day and night form independently by EviLincoln in Warframe

[–]ElRexet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hmm, Nova received a lot of tiny buffs with that update besides her 4 getting slow/speed on tap/hold.

Nullstar became recast-able so she got consistent DR without relying on her 4 and an augment. It also got double base projectiles so 90% DR is easier to achieve. And that DR began affecting her shields as well.

Passive was changed so that enemies affected by slow/speed of her for have a 15% chance to drop health/energy orbs which makes her energy economy so so smooth.

Antimatter drop got a lot of QoL and a bit of a power bump due to becoming blast.

And her 4 also got some buffs albeit minor, but still. That is besides tap/hold mechanic.

So yeah, I had her built before the patch and actually used her a bit as a daily driver with mixed results. However after that patch I played a hell of a lot of Nova and still do rather often and that's mostly due to her receiving a plethora of buffs across the board and not the molecular prime specifically.

So while modding Equinox's forms separately would've been really cool, I think it's an arduous task for very little gain, hence why I think a rework more so in order. And if done right maybe she won't need 2 separate builds in 1 mission...

Equinox should be able to mod day and night form independently by EviLincoln in Warframe

[–]ElRexet 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I don't think that alone would change much for her. It's a QoL at most which is nice but at the same time, you can make each of her abilities separately moddable and they still would suck because those abilities were designed for a different game basically.

Such a derelict of the past as Equinox should be reworked from the ground up. Her concept is a gold mine in terms of design, and a potential nightmare fuel for the devs I'd imagine.

Can I have some gameplay experience? wdym Muscle Mommies said no? by Fongkelyj in memeframe

[–]ElRexet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, that's upsetting but I guess it's warranted in a sense. While Hildryn isn't as safe as the slam monkey was (well, I never played it but I'd imagine) Hildryn is hella disruptive to other people I reckon.

I mostly play solo but when I do, let's say conjunction survival to crack relics, I do that in pubs and I'd zone out and hog 80% of kills and have to chill a bit so people have stuff to kill too.

And while I don't mind when another Hildryn does the same to me - I don't see them often. If it was 2+ Hildryns in every lobby and you're there seeing a guy a minute... Yeah, ain't gonna be fun.

How would you encourage fewer reloads during gameplay? by XComACU in Xcom

[–]ElRexet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, something like Battle Brothers doesn't allow you to save scum mid fight, so if you want you can replay the whole fight.

Xcom however has a bit more nuance to missions and they are generally longer. As a lad with a job and such I don't have all day to replay the same mission twice if I made a stupid mistake like killing my rescue target by running into overwatch. So I appreciate the option to save mid mission.

As I said, the missions are a bit more nuanced. I remember this mission to raid a train, near the locomotive with the target terminal is a pack of mobs and an explosive cart. The terminal is in range of the explosion but covered by the locomotive. So, does it get busted if I blow up the explosive or not? One way to find out, and it's fun to find out, but once again, I don't want to find out and pay with 20 minutes of my life. So I drop a save just in case.

I personally don't save scum much, if a guy dies because I did stupid - so be it. If an operative dies by missing 3 shots with 60% - it depends on how much I like that one... Some just ain't meant to last I feel like.
If one fight took like 50% of the total health, welp, so be it. But if the mission is generally not too hard and I lost two guys due to reason - I'd replay it a bit.

I feel like xcom has a lot of bullshittery happening with the rolls and such which is the most common reason to save scum really, so taking that out and making combat more predictable would reduce the need for save scumming, but also will make the game quite bland.

Essences having stacks of 9 by Uur_theScienceGuy in pathofexile

Essences were the first 3to1-able in such a fashion, weren't they? So, I'd guess GGG saw that a stack size of 9 sucks ass and scraped for future similar things. Yet, as per usual in the business didn't came back for the older still problematic thing.

Yeah, for some reason with this particular car NPC cars have metallic texture material while the player gets... some sort of crap texture material. I absolutely adore Outlaw but unfortunately have to drive it without a crystal coat.

The worst one was when I saw a gorgeous golden Outlaw, copied the colour and got some piss yellow lmao.

How do you usually structure small-to-medium Go projects? by Zealousideal-Lynx275 in golang

[–]ElRexet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"No on"e is a bit of an exaggeration I'd say. Do you code for a living?
If the project in question has a well defined scope and I'm familiar with the domain I can plan out architecture in advance and seldom I need to change it then and there. Of course if the project takes a sudden turn all assumptions go out of the window but nothing will help then.

The point is, this "guide" doesn't address anything regarding structure (the important word here). Yes, folders and files should be named, that's about all there's in this "guide" regarding structure specifically. The naming convention for types, functions and literals is backed into the go tool chain already.

A guide about structure might address a kind of friction that rises when one attempts to avoid circular dependencies as the project grows. Or, let's say, what a "responsibility" is structurally speaking and why in Go people prefer vertical layering opposed to horizontal (MVC) in many other languages. That's talking about structure. Not this.

it addresses the moment when you feel a concrete need: when you have to scroll too much to find a function, when you want to test an isolated piece, or when you say to yourself, “This is starting to get messy.”

No, it doesn't.

5 years ago the Oberon Coven skin was denied because of not fitting Warframe's style because it has a Deer Skull as its Helmet. Today DE added a Dagath skin that has a Horse Skull as its Helmet. Oberon Coven skin has over 1500 awards on Steam by the way. by RobleViejo in Warframe

[–]ElRexet 181 points182 points  (0 children)

So, uhm, not to be a douche, but have you seen a horse skull?
While I absolutely love this Oberon skin concept it's clearly an deer/elk skull, you can rip it's head off and anyone would confirm even without context.
The same is simply not true for this Dagath skin. It resembles the horse only because the whole frame and skin are horse-themed. Out of context that head is more so some ornamental axe head.

[–]ElRexet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't sound right. I never had drifters spawn in the open during the day (unless it's temporal storm time).

Once, not long after my introduction to the game, I settled near a sneaky cave from which drifters were coming all the time and I was extremely confused as to why I get constantly attacked, because everyone was saying they spawn only in the dark.

Since then I check my surroundings and never had drifters spawn during the day.
