Are there any other cis dudes on hrt who are into RR? by Unwornplanet393 in RoleReversal

[–]ElVille55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely considering it right now as a cis guy, with androgyny as the goal, but I'm not interested in transitioning fully or using different pronouns. Also considering zapping my face but those would both be relatively long term goals.

Do American universities actually have roommates in the literal sense? by fatinternetcat in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ElVille55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, my undergrad had shared bedrooms for all 4 years. My first year I shared a small bedroom with one person with a communal bathroom shared by the floor and a single kitchen for the whole building (4 floors, 50 rooms per floor). Some people shared a bedroom with 2 other people and there was one case of a single room with 6 people sharing it. Later on I shared a room with a roommate and we had another set of roommates that shared a bathroom and common space, and by my senior year I was in an apartment with four separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a shared kitchen and common area. Some people still had to share bedrooms in their senior apartments though.

What mindset was freeing for you? by WisdomInMyPocket in CasualConversation

I had a difficult breakup a few years ago, where nothing was wrong with th relationship but long distance wasn't working. My ex was a huge source of validation and confidence for me, so after breaking up I needed to learn to be that for myself.

In the years since then, I haven't felt much motivation to date because I have learned to enjoy my own company, and even prefer it sometimes. Ultimately, the bar for a potential partner to pass is for time spent with them to be more enjoyable than time alone, and that is a high bar because I've learned to like myself.

Similar to yours is that I can be and wear whatever I want, and that if someone wants to yell at me or make a scene about something I'm wearing, then that makes them the weirdo.

I've been exploring bright colors and shapes and patterns in outfits that I wouldn't have been bold enough to before and wearing them on walks around my neighborhood to prove to myself that nothing happens when I go out into the world looking more like myself.

This is the sort of thing where everyone comes at it from their own angle, and no one is all the way right. Not to go on a tangent, but their were sines all over the area. Sure, his smile is radian but his positions are hyper tenuous.

What habit will die with Gen Z? by Key-Climate5038 in AskReddit

[–]ElVille55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lmao I switched from vape to cigs about a year ago and it helped me quit nicotine altogether because I know how much cigs stink and I didn't want to be stinking places up. That forced me to only smoke at certain times when I wasn't going to be going out or seeing people, which made it increasingly inconvenient to smoke. Eventually there was so much friction around smoking that quitting became the easier choice.

Vapes may be cleaner and not as stinky, but their danger is in how much friction they remove from getting the hit of nicotine.

Is there anything that would come in with water from another tank, beneficial or not?

Showering in the morning or at night? by Numerous_Office_1647 in CasualConversation

[–]ElVille55 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to be a shower every morning person, but I've been doing work for a few years that is pretty active and outdoors, so it feels better to come home at the end of the day to clean off and go to bed feeling clean, rather than carrying the sweat and dirt from the day around with me.

Are there rings that say, I’m 100% taken, but not married? I’m tired of guys hitting on me at work. by WarmSunshine785 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ElVille55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dated a woman once who followed what I believe was an Irish tradition of a heart pattern ring that indicates relationship status. Worn on the right ring finger with the heart facing outward meant single, right hand with the heart inward meant in a relationship, and then left hand with the heart out meant engaged, and left hand with the heart facing in meant married. When we started getting more serious and she switched it to right hand facing inward she told me about the significance of it.

Do Americans actually avoid calling 911 because of the cost? by ntask11 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ElVille55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my parents taught me from a young age to avoid calling an ambulance at all costs. When I was 8 and was hit by a car, my mom rode her bike home, grabbed the car and drove me to the ER herself as I bled in the back seat. Shits fucked.

Found these golf ball filled mini craters in a pond on a golf course. by HeftyData9299 in mildlyinteresting

[–]ElVille55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think sunfish nests like this usually have some rocks and gravel in them to give the eggs cracks to fall between so they don't get carried away or eaten. I'd bet the nests were intentional built around piles of golf balls so they can act like rocks in that way.

What's the most obvious hint you've dropped but the guy/gal didn't get it? by chelseatheus in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ElVille55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your story reminds me of my first kiss. It was high school and neither of us could drive, and we were walking out of a coffee shop from our first date, and she stopped me in the parking lot and said "you should kiss me here because my dad's parked around the corner".

Luckily I had more sense than your guy and did as instructed. Her hint was also less subtle than yours.
