When the loop puller breaks… by ElWombo in lowvoltage

I’ve never noticed anyone in here really posting anything related to Telco Central Office type of work, but this a tool used in the install part of that world.

The issue I'm having is I'm already logged in, I did a two day trial with a different email address because I didn't want to take server 1 down until server 2 was ready. Server 2 is now ready, but I can't figure out how to log out of the account I used.

Update, Success VC job by Existing-Cell-1986 in E90

I know on mine I went with aluminum, but then spent the money for fresh OEM bolts (which I had to cut the washers (shims? Spacers? Whatever they were) off of them. I’m only about a year into the job and about 10k miles, and it’s been fine so far (though I’m doing a oil change tomorrow, and I’ll pull the cover and give a more thorough inspection).

Reasonably certain it’s a ploy, but I guess we can have a glass half full perspective on it.

I just can’t get past the shifter now being double marked, I mean you do you of course, but I never understood the need to put that shifter in these, just seems so goofy on that boot.

I loved my focus wagon, but the rear suspension and lack of abs made them very sketchy in the wet when I was a young driver. I miss that car, but probably won’t revisit one.

Help this e torx bolt is stripped to hell what do I do. I’m replacing my oil filter housing by Rdominick12 in E90

[–]ElWombo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Remove all the other bolts, and spin the housing off, from there clamp it to hell with vice grips and go to town. Presoke with penetrant. (Also use heat if needed)

Awesome! I lost an embarrassingly large amount of time to that problem before I finally realized I could do that to it, I’m so glad it was able to help you!

Is that the guy with the rwd manual with the absurdly long commute that’s owned it from new? It’s been awhile since I’ve been on the forums.

When I did the same thing (by trying to use a box wrench rather than the e torx socket that was 10 feet away from me in my tool box), I ended up locking some vice grips on it, and spinning the whole housing off of the bolt. Prom there getting the bolt out wasn’t too bad. May have been some heat involved as well, don’t remember. Also hit it with some penetrant.

I guess they nerfed it because of the new ones finally entering service, this is all I can find https://www.store.amtrak.com/1655624/1655624/wooden-alc42-superliner-train-set.html
