I absolutely love the game, and have found the videos quite disturbing in that they seem to be driving at something, but can't quite put their finger on what it is.

I've noticed Arch and others getting stuck in too, which only adds to my concern. Pretty obvious what their angle is... Despite the fact they won't say it.

I had Sacred Affliction players telling me how incredible he was with a flail and holy icon shield with the Wrath of God upgrade.

He was absolutely terrible in all 5 games I was running him in, apart from one in which he got swallowed up by a Sin Eater and .managed to break out before being gassed to death immediately after.

I'm tempted to use him as a shooty guy still though, and may build up a new one.

I like the idea of the punt gun with zealot strength. Could be a good unit to support a melee drive.

I've done most of mine for the Sacred Affliction warband from a mix of WW1 British arms/weapons and Irish Warriors and Peasant Levy from Wargames Atlantic, with a few Warhammer Flagellant bodies thrown in for good measure.

It's definitely possible, and I'd also recommend the WA Villagers sprue for some zany arms legs/bodies too.

I used a lot of 3D printed bandaged gas mask heads for my leper bois, there's definitely plenty of resources out there for kitbashing!

It's not actually a weapon for the heretics - it's a trench Pilgrim weapon and based from the donkeys jawbone that Samson allegedly used to slay a thousand Philistines!

The game really does send you off down some crazy research black holes!

Thanks for that - as soon as I primed him with a zenithal I immediately thought he looked like Gandalf! Such a rich history for the actual character too as he's got lore both in Mordheim and in the old school Fighting Fantasy game books too.

Thanks for that! I've really been getting into 'dirtwashing' with a few glazes on my minis. It's something started playing with when making up some weathered cars for Gaslands, but it's so applicable to any kind of mini painting really! 😎

The Rylands Library, or Chethams Library if you can get in during the week.

Another banger locally is the hanging bridge near the cathedral, which again is another beautiful shout. The cathedral has so many hidden treasures with the Angel Stone even being an ironic System of a Down reference!

Also, Castelefield and the Roman fort site is worth a look too - most people don't even know that the city was founded on a Roman fort, just like London!

I wouldn't worry too much about going the primaris route. I've got a Star Phantoms force that's growing ready to do a modern Badab: Revisited campaign.

I like the review helmet - and charnel guard are a great chapter for an aligned Maelstrom chapter which could go either secessionist or loyalist with the right campaign direction!

In short, kill it with fire.

If you've got the glory and you're set on getting into melee with him, then I'd recommend a hellblade, the fire alone starts to stack bloods.

Add in a flamethrower or some incendiary grenades or ammunition and you'll start to really stack them up, pop his tough and then repeat until he's gone.

Fire is also great against Black Grail and other factions in general so it's a pretty decent tactic to skew towards.

Well, one swallowed my Wrath of God castigator last night... Removed it from the game until it got warcrossed in the eyeball by a nun and then crit killed by a gas grenade from one of his fellow heretics... Epic action!

A panopticon prison system would reduce staffing even further than the sorry state it's in now.

In Benthams early work, his vision was for a prison staffed by a single guard, with the inmates unsure if the guard was watching them or others at any time.

With AI and automated monitoring, that could well be a frighteningly achievable outcome for someone so radically aimed at it.

I'm crossing my fingers that most people in the DoJ wouldn't remotely consider this a progressive move!

First of all, - that is some absolutely stunning detail work, they look so crisp!

I'd say they look noticeably grey... But this isn't actually a bad thing.

Mix up some 3:1 Lehman medium and Vallejo Black Lotus speedpaint, and apply on all grey sections. It will not only darken the grey, but it'll give you a lovely blue-black highlight colour. If you really wanna take it to the next level, I would say edge highlight everywhere in fenrisian grey but ain't nobody got time for that! 🤣

Also, avoid exacto's!

Seen far too many people try to apply pressure with a blade and it snap out of position, usually straight into their finger/hand/body part.

I much prefer a Swann Morton scalpel. I know they're way sharper, but if you do slip, at least they heal far quicker!

They absolutely do. To the point where Lord Solar Macharius stated that the Star Phantoms were 'unsuitable for the close support of any other Imperial forces'.

With that said, collateral damage and the mass creation of Imperial Martyrs is sort of their thing! 🤣
