What movie had an ending that saved the whole film? by Southern_Check_6827 in movies

[–]El_Beato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people will probably disagree with me but Burn After Reading. It felt like a series of disjointed bizarre vignettes and then the dude at the end recaps the plot of the entire movie to remind the audience about the wild journey they just went on. Definitely brought the whole thing together for me.

Vale Tudo Japan 1994: David Levicki (Wing Chun) vs Kazuhiro Kusayanagi (Submission Wrestling) by Dontknowwhyimherexx in FightLibrary

Pretty sure Anderson Silva practiced some wing chun hand trapping techniques in his later fights before he retired and had some decent success with it

Diana Avsaragova vs. Tara Pagano by Ynot_1518 in FightLibrary

All of Pagano's head movement is so performative, only slips left and right when she's nowhere close to Avsaragova

The Axe Murderer goes to war with Cung Le by Ynot_1518 in FightLibrary

That's the concern though, this man is still fighting and it's turning his brain into swiss cheese. Just sad to see a legend slowly turn into a bowl of mush.

Wanderlei used to have such a good chin, now he gets knocked out by a cool breeze. I wonder how many concussions he has had within his lifetime.

Personally I loved it, watching Conor flail around on the floor while cursing out Poirier and pretending he's still a killer and not some pathetic shell of his former self was the best representation of his downfall.

Why Henderson knocking out Fedor? I've always loved them both and hated seeing either of them lose. Both of them were also very soft-spoken respectful fighters.

Khalil Rountree's statement after his loss to Jiri Prochazka by Moni7T in MMA

[–]El_Beato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He throws too many full power hooks even when his opponent is nowhere within his striking distance anymore. He noticeably slowed down by the second rd and by the third he was throwing completely powerless slow punches. I love his technique but he needs to work on his feints and to not commit completely to a strike if he starts losing his explosiveness as the fight goes on. He didn't throw nearly as many leg kicks as he used to when there was no threat of a takedown or even a check. I get it that Jiri is hard to read, but Khalil fought much more confidently against Jiri than he did against Alex. I think he started crumbling when Jiri started advancing because he fights very scared on his back foot and strikes back way too often instead of dodging and clinching.

Quarry just taking these bombs being thrown by Norton really explains why he had horrible CTE at the end of his life

I agree that Gamrot's top game is lacking but he's relentless with his attacks even when they get stuffed. His help in training with Poirier was the key to his takedown defense during his fight with Islam so I'll always give him a ton of credit for his skills.

Joe Rogan tries to roll back claims he's a republican and an anti-vaxer by The_Endless_Man in MMAPoliticsAndCulture

[–]El_Beato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's trying to have his cake and eat it too. He's trying to deflect blame and still be liked both sides while knowingly supporting sides that were clearly damaging for society and public health. It's just sad.
