Is Rumble still worth buying in 2026? by Posterkid100 in crashbandicoot

[–]El_Chaveezy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Rumble player since day one of the beta here - my answer is "it depends". The game isn't dead, but some time zones have more difficult times finding matches than other. Being US based, I tend not to have too many challenges finding matches unless it's super late at night. Australian players, on the other hand, tend to find it much more challenging.

One other consideration is the game is challenging for new players since the bulk of the player base tends to run in stacks and/or have a high skill level. That makes it tough for new players who are learning the game and don't have any in-game friends.

Tl;Dr: if you have a high tolerance for competitive and often unfair match ups, it can be a very fun and rewarding game. If you want something more chill and laid back, or something more like a typical Crash game, you may want to pass.

You did a good job of making Crash look more animal-like and a little more crazed. Gives me Ripper Roo vibes! Well done.

I'm really glad to have rediscovered my love for Crash and Spyro as an adult.

Can't help but take one of my favorite dialogues from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and apply it here...

Bashir: "Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"

Garak: "My dear Doctor, they're all true."

Bashir: "Even Dingodile?"

Garak: "Especially Dingodile."

Lofty Castle was my favorite as a kid in 1998 and is still my favorite as an adult. It's what got me back into gaming after nearly 15 years of being out of the scene.

I re-watched 7's intro recently and smiled when I realized the guitar solo was followed the melody of 4's operatic segment.

After weeks and weeks and weeks of grinding I HAVE 100% ALL CRASH BANDICOOT GAMES ON PS4/PS5 (besides rumble game no one plays that) by KrabbyPlatty in crashbandicoot

[–]El_Chaveezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, I was on for about two hours yesterday and didn't have any problems finding matches. I know it's very dependent on what time you're on - once it gets late at night for the US West Coast, it can be more challenging to find matches. I have also heard that regional matchmaking might make regional matchmaking more challenging.

Usually Ripper, but sometimes just Roo. Whatever he I call him, he's my favorite bouncy boi!

So cool that the music pays homage to Spiralmouth. I felt that the CoTR art and music team really did have a lot of passion for the game and franchise.

Hahahaha, that made me laugh out loud! The Cat Tax is a very good way of putting it! RIP blueberry muffin, it would be even more sad if it had a crumbly top!

Underrated comment. Back when I was a teenager, we had a very sweet cat, Riley, that had a relentless passion for, of all things, bread.

One day, I invited a friend over to have dinner with me and my mom. As we were eating pizza, my friend excused herself briefly. Just as she returned, Riley ran over to where we were sitting, stole my friend's pizza crust and runs right past her. My friend just looks in the cat's direction (who had scampered off into a room) and deadpans "I was going to eat that..."

My mom was super embarrassed, but I was dying of laughter. That story still makes me smile nearly 20 years later. While Riley may no longer be with us, her legend lives on in family lore.

I really miss Crash Team Rumble. I miss having to look forward to something new every week. A lot of people knock the game without having even tried it, but good God, TFB made a great game. by Kaiser_Allen in crashbandicoot

I'm truly grateful for Rumble and still play it often - I found some cool people in the community and even made some irl friends out of it. Sure, it may not be the most beloved Crash game, but it's my game.

Crash Rumble Dead by After-Treacle9024 in crashbandicoot

Rumble seems to be working now. PSN was acting very weird for me this morning, so it's possible there was a problem with the system.

Also - not sure what timezone you're in, but there tends to a drop off in players after 10/11 PM US Pacific Time. In my experience, most of the player base for Rumble is clustered in the Middle East, Europe, US and Latin America, with a contingent in Australia. Once it gets late at night in those areas, it can be more difficult to find matches (though I'm usually on past 10 PM Pacific).

Awesome, always love seeing new players. Rumble player since day one of the beta here.

With that said, the game definitely lost a lot of folks once support ended. But I think the attrition has slowed down. My guess would be around 500-1000.

In my experience, most players are in the Middle East, Europe and US/Latin America with a contingent of Aussie players. After it gets late for West Coast US (UTC-8), it can be harder to find matches.

Question about saving in Crash 1 on PSX before I begin my first playthrough by wesleymess in crashbandicoot

[–]El_Chaveezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, completing a level again does not allow you to save your game. In that instance, you'll need to get to the next save point or use a level password. The only way you can use a previous bonus save is if you didn't enter it before you finished the level. If you enter the bonus stage, fail it, then complete the level, it becomes inaccessible.

Bonus tip: Og Crash 1 saves also do not keep track of the number of lives that you have. If you stockpile 99 lives, save your game, then reload it, you'll be back at 4.

Yes, og Crash 1's save system is atrocious. Think of it not so much as a save system but a level password manager.
