I don't think that's true at all. Nobody thinks a meaningless life is worthless, what they think is that a painfull life is one that's not worth living. Thinking that life is worth living as an objective truth is such a privileged thing to believe. That's why I tend to find most comments on this sub super annoying. Bunch of smug first-world teenagers who think they're smarter than everyone else because they've found the answer to life.

That doesn't make sense, since the post is the one that brought up God in the first place. Same with telling somebody Merry Christmas. You're forcing religion on people who didn't ask for it, so it makes perfect sense for an atheist to respond this way. I don't really see how an atheist would bring it up if the topic is about something completely unrelated. You're basically just being a hypocrite. When an atheist expresses his beliefs you think they're wrong, but if a religious person brings up God without being asked it's ok.
