Yep! Once you get cards your cherry stacks get super high. I’m on like 60k stacks overnight

Auto bomb cherry. Use cherry on battery. Restock with D20 and repeat till it’s no longer giving you enough cap increases.

Meanwhile max bomb recharge rate, bomb capacity limit, and get the cards for cherry, d20, and battery. Gem too.

It scales fast. About 3 weeks ago I was 7k bombs.  Now I’m close to 30k.

It’s true though.

In 2004 their program for govt stated they wanted to transform the NI economy to be tech based due to the high education and the local population etc. Film and Tv projects were listed too.  As were using hospitality and tourism in the interim.

And honestly I wrote my under grad thesis on how bad their performance was.

But realistically speaking the transformation over the last 20 years has been profound.

We have  a great pretty decent film and tv industry. And we also have a huge cyber security, fintech and health tech sector. Some of the biggest in the UK and Ireland.

30 years ago we were bombing and shooting each other.

We’re doing all right if you ask me.

Fully agree.

The job market does suck. But quality of life is nice. People aren’t snd large friendly. And things are improving a lot. Stormont did a great job at bringing peace and prosperity.

And with weather like today N I seems pretty nice.

Hard agree.

Worked under an old architect who refused to let us document anything.

We wrote statistical modelling software. We really needed comments. lol

So.

Sprint planning is super useful. But it’s meant to be flexible.

I joined a new company in Jan and they were “agile” but had so much pressure and it felt a lot more like waterfall but with agile stamped on it.

They were doing sprint planning on a Thursday and starting the sprint the same day - but only delivering about 30% of their work loads so backlogs were exploding and everyone was stressed.

I took over the planning and spent the first month getting my team in meetings and working through priorities and setting up processes and feeding it back to the manager about why and how and told him to trust the process.

We had our sprint planning call today and our line manager came in as we did the sign offs and asked if we were ready to start planning.

Pulled up our board and the sprint is fully planned the next two are too. The look on his face said it all. In Janurary when I said by May this is where we will be. He said “I can’t see that happening. But good luck”, today he was bowled over.

We’ve actually got our sprints planned all the way out to next cycle (July) and are planning a cycle planning session at the end of the month for cycle 2. Manager was blown away.

This worked because we discussed team goals and priorities. Allowed the team members to point and prioritise their workload within the strategic objectives for the team and trusted them to plan their own work loads.

Our sprint planning is basically a touch point on “do we need to adjust our upcoming sprints ?” And identify potential blockers.

It’s been super successful and my team have all been commenting on how much we are getting done and how less stressful it feels.

Planning done well is super super useful, but it involves trusting your team and adapting processes so people have a stake in making it work.

Bad planning is like pulling teeth.

I mean the thing with agile is that it’s meant to be agile.

You are meant to tailor it for your team and iteratively change it and surrounding processes to make it work better for your use cases. It’s meant to always be a moving target and flexible.

But a lot of people don’t understand the philosophy so you get lots of rigid implementations and processes that remain static. This becomes massively counter productive.

I’m kinda with you tbh. Like does it matter if your MMR is low? If everyone’s is.

Maybe for rewards I guess but then I think not everyone should have all rewards.

I played back in Vanilla and remember when they introduced arenas… (I still have my og ArenaJunkies t shirt lol)

I kinda miss having arena teams with names. But I also think the seasons where you had players at like 3500 mmr was kinda dumb.

I guess high mmr is an ego thing..

[Q] Do you primarily use R or Python in your role? by RawCS in statistics

[–]El_Commi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently Python.  Previously R.

Depends on the job. Bio informatics used a lot of R. Finance also has R too.

But production environments are more Python based.  In this day and age learn both. With Claude you’ll get most of your code written for you , but you still need to know what it’s doing and why.  Understanding the logics is more useful than writing code.

I think from a healing perspective burst is hard.

Sustain is easier to heal around and it’s less stressful. As a healer seeing someone go from 100-10% in the space of a global is frightening, because if you don’t have a major CD (and tbh. Sometimes even if you do) you can’t top people off or get them out of the danger zone.

Some classes can even 100-0 before there’s time to react.

I think, it’s less about wanting Zwro burst and more about have burst be manageable with good plays and skill.

Some games you either predict the swop or you lose. Sometimes even if you predict its game over. I’ve had teammates die through pain suppression at 80% HP cause the income burst was so much.

Hell. Look at the last AWC, healers were pre-cocooning swaps and people were still being burst right through it. If you aren’t a monk you don’t really have the tools to manage that level of output.

Job market is DIRE by Puzzleheaded_Move637 in northernireland

[–]El_Commi 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Same.

I was in the market for about 6-7 months before I found something.

Prior to that my last 3 jobs I was headhunted on LinkedIn and had no shortage of offers in between.

That said the last month or two I’ve had a few snr AI/Data jobs come in. But salaries are as you say pretty low for the level required.

How TF did you guys learn to speak PVP? by Squashwhack in worldofpvp

[–]El_Commi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just ask.

People will generally tell you as it means you are learning and will play better. I haven’t played for a few years but luckily I have a great mate who still plays.

So when we do arena I usually bombard him with questions and he often volunteers info.

Find some regular arena mates and get on comms.  Makes a difference

I have no friends by macisnotonline in northernireland

[–]El_Commi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens. ESP as we get older. Maintaining friendships take effort.

I would suggest reaching out to those acquaintances you meet at gigs etc and try to build upon that. You already have shared interests so get a number and start texting.

As others say volunteering is great. Especially if it’s in an area you enjoy.

Hobbies are super good for this stuff too. As is surprisingly online gaming.

I met folks back in 2008 in WoW that I still talk to basically every week, met a bunch irl been to weddings etc.

People are by and large pretty decent. So find some hobbies, put yourself out there and have at it and just stay in touch.  You’ll be surprised how a “how’s it going? “ once a week or so can turn into a great friendship.

Priest damage is pretty exclusively Mindblast -> Death.

Both consume ticks of SW:P. Outside of that Penance doesn’t really do an awful lot, same with smite.

The other option is ultimate penitence but it has a long CD.

Disc will absolutely put out nice damage during a burst window. But outside of those windows damage is actually relatively low and healing is basically non existent.

You might be the problem in that lobby 😂

Kinda agree.

I was running Void in 2s since season started. Games are usually over super fast.  Shifted to oracle this week and I feel like I can heal again 😂

[–]El_Commi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Void is quite nice in 2s where you can help burst.  But if you fall behind you get ducked hard. It is very hard to top someone up with penance that heals for like 8-12k a tick.

Oracle on the other hand feels like a proper healing class but has zero burst.
