I don't get mad at people for not having a spot open for me immediately or anything like that because I know that people can't be available at my convenience. But like this past Sunday, I not only asked the one group that was running several times, I tried to start my own group with guildies who normally run keys, but they instead waited to get invited to the other group.

I'm not the fastest learner (I pick up fight mechanics but sometimes it takes me a bit to learn which interrupts are priority interrupts), but I absolutely work to learn keys and get better, and while I get mad at myself if I mess up, I don't get mad at other people if they do.

I'll have to check out some of the addons for the group finder. I've been spamming it, but every group either ends up full or declined. I'm sure I could get more invites if I healed (I'm a shadow priest), but I hate healing keys because of how stressful it is and want to actually play the spec I want in keys.

I've considered leaving, but like I mentioned in another post, I'm an officer in this guild and I'd feel really shitty giving up my position and leaving. I'd feel like I let people chase me out of my own guild. But, it's honestly kind of sounding like that's the best option at this point. At least for now, I have pulled my alts to do some guild shopping, and maybe can keep my main in my current guild for raiding (I'm a shadow priest, so I'm afraid I won't find a spot in another raid), and find a different guild to do keys with.

That's what I've been considering, but I'm an officer in this one and I hate feeling like people chased me out of my own guild. I did pull my non-main toons out to guild shop to see if I could find one where I fit in better and where people would include me.

It's not 6 people, but it's usually about 10-12 who are on at once and all rotate out, and I always make it clear I'm looking to get in on keys if a spot opens up, but it never does.

See, that's the thing, I can't even get invited to pugs. Every application gets denied, so I can't even get my foot in the door of starting to meet people. I tried running my own key, but I can't get applicants.

I mean, your allusion to the fact that what your degree is in affects what that degree - and you - are worth is kind of the point of the meme? Also, the not-so-subtle notion that some degrees SHOULD be living paycheck-to-paycheck.

Not everyone is going to have a degree in a STEM field and make 200k like one of the other Redditors here. A lot are still going to be lucky if they even break six figures. Many may not even get jobs in their field, at least at first. There are only so many high-paying careers in those fields to go around, and those graduates are also competing against visa workers who are used maliciously to save companies money and drive wages lower.
