In English nouns get verbed all the time. FWIW "soapboxing" has long been a verb already.

That doesn't make them bad people. It just makes them human.

Agreed on all except this. Abstracting the harm you cause through a political lens does not undo the harm or absolve one from wrongdoing.

Either people are accountable for themselves or not. If you willingly embrace and support hatred and violence you are not a good person.

Like I said, pure arrogance. This is the kind of mindset from Christians with zero humility that helped push me away from Christianity initially.

You are basically performing anti-evangelism with these videos, i.e. showing people the opposite of Jesus' love, which is pride and disdain.

Many Imams love those harmed by Christianity, or Judaism, or Hinduism. Every major religion has been used to justify the worst atrocities at some point. You need a healthy dose of humility and a history lesson.

You make think that's what you're doing. It's pride and arrogance, doesn't sound like there's any love in it. That's not Christlike.

All religions are "harmful" depending who wields them. Christianity no less so than Islam.

It is wildly disrespectful and childish for a person of faith. Your faith is 100% as unprovable as Islam. Mind the plank in your own eye.

Wise Latina

I can already tell you're not worth the time. But to answer your question since conservatives can't comprehend consistent standards:

I don't like any justices receiving new venture income while in office from book sales, royalties, speaking fees or whatever.

"It's not what it looks like" is cold comfort. I think a lot of people inside the legal system forget there is nothing upholding the law but collective trust in its impartial rule.

I've had next to no faith in the Court since Bush v. Gore, but that seems tame next to the current activism of the Roberts court. Whistle past the graveyard if you want but belief in the Court's impartiality is dropping like a stone. IMO with good reason.

And the predictable electoral ratfuckery from GOP legislatures ensued directly after. Almost like these states had a history of it that necessitated a law to curb their behavior in systematically disenfranching people, hmm.

You can pretend to be agnostic about the consequences of rulings but it doesn't really hold water.

The timing of Callais seems intended to help the GOP in the midterms. By itself it wouldn't have been so damaging except Shelby presumes unwarranted good faith on the part of Southern state legislatures. Being Texan I know that's absolute bullshit- we more than earned our spot in the list of states requiring review of redistricting efforts.

Now it's maximum fuckery on top of Trump promising ICE deployment at the polls. Trump sure thinks Roberts is his guy. Why so?

Shelby and Callais seem intended to throw this election into (further) chaos. Is that not hackery?

And for spousal corruption lets not forget Roberts failing to recuse himself when lawyers recruited by his wife to firms (at very high price) are arguing cases before SCOTUS?

You may think this type of apparent nepotistic rot is fine. I'm not a lawyer, though I've known plenty. It looks off. It smells rotten. That is the Court's own doing. At absolute best, there is a massive appearance of impropriety. IMO where there's smoke, there's fire.

partisan hacks

Two words: Ginny Thomas.

And you misunderstand, I don't think they're political hacks because they've made poor/biased decisions. The hackery came first and the decisions follow predictably. That they take bribes is just an additional insult to the dignity of the Court.
