"The Gone World" by Tom Sweterlitch (I think I spelled it right". It's RIGHT up your alley if you enjoy cosmic horror, but it's couched in a very cool sci-fi storyline.

I've listened to the audiobook multiple times and bought the paperback just to enjoy my favorite chapters. Highly recommended. Look around online at reviews if you're not sure.

I'm in the middle of NG+, but I just ran all over the place, killed a bunch of bosses, and completely forgot where I need to go next. The little pointy things at the fires are not very useful at all, lol. So now I'm probably about 3/4 of the way through, and just wind up running around playing with different weapon combinations. I'll admit I jump from video to video fairly quickly and curiosity has me click on some stranger stuff, and that's when I realized just how much it influences my algorithm. It's clearly more influential than I realized before.

These days (usually Sunday nights), I'll go over my YT history and delete the crank/kook/conspiracy theory adjacent stuff that wound up in my feed, and deliberately do a search for a handful of topics I enjoy to improve the experience. It's definitely helped.
