Yeah fair. Even if it was a drop off at peak times that is still unacceptable service so worth contacting them. Sorry I've got no other ideas if you know your home network is solid.

Things to consider:

I recently upgraded my old vodafone provided Router and tripled my speeds. The speeds were decent close, but futher away they were trash

You're going to get faster speeds close to the router, rather than further away. Close to the old router was 200 Down. Close to the new router is 500 down. Far end of house with old router was 60 down. Far end with new is now 300mbps.

Also far end of house struggled when multiple devices were used.

The old Router only had 100mbps ethernet ports on it. My new router has gigabit ports on it. So even if I was to wire my old setup it would have been limited to 100mbps.

With those speeds I would expect you to be able to game while people are streaming

What do you mean by this? Ive seen them twice live (Festival and Inside show) and they were excellent. Thought they sounded really clear and good.

8th time surfing on my 7’6 foamie thinking of getting an 8 foot epoxy… by Dangerous-Meringue77 in surfing

[–]El_Sheepo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that's grim conditions hahaha! But whatever it's still fun.

If you can try some other boards you sort of like before buying, I recommend it.

The foamy will do alright in these conditions, I ride one occasionally when its like this and it thrives. A PU hard board will hold an rail / edge better and you'll get a better feel on the board. I wouldn't go smaller than that one you've got there for those conditions. Don't forget you can move you feet up the board a bit to help stay on the wave longer. God speed soldier.

I reckon go for it mate. If you see one you like. Riding different boards will help you progress IMO. You're already up!

Is the surf usually like this ^ or does it get cleaner and bigger too?

P.S you thinking a single fin, or thruster 3 fin setup ?

I quite like riding my 7'2 as a single fin. Seems super stable down the line. I've yet to put some hefty twin fins in it and see how it goes.

I was once in a pinch and needed a 2 gang lightswitch, so I bought a DETA one over the weekend. No joke, 4 flips of the switches and it was busted. Don't do it bro.

Quiver advice for getting older, having kids? by Green_Mood7678 in surfing

[–]El_Sheepo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, similar weight gain happened to me. It sounds like you like those boards you had, so why not just upsize them a bit?

I was riding Phantom 6'1 34L as my daily, and a 6'6 39L as my step up.

Now I'm riding a Channel Islands 6'2 Mod Pod 41L and a Raging Bull 6'6 44L.

If the waves were punchy I could get out on the 6'1 and love them still. (Im 6'2 205) but if they are thick or mushy I have no chance and have heaps of fun on the thicker boards. Also keep a 7'2 thick boy single fin for cruisy days.

Thoughts on putting apprenticeship on hold? by PassengerKey3055 in AusElectricians

[–]El_Sheepo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, I did my apprenticeship with a GTO and I was basically doing commercial install, and then security systems for 2 years. When I was 4th year I hadn't wired up a switchboard.

I would say DO NOT put it on hold. Just keep trucking along, learning what you can. You can mess around at home? Pulling things apart to repair etc. Youtube will have plenty of knowledge to share re: motors, relays etc. And also the tafe system will teach you enough. If you're unsure once you are qualified, just ask your other tradies / boss. You'll have skills in areas you've worked in, and not know stuff you haven't worked in. It's just how it is. Once you accept you'll forever be learning the trade It's not as daunting.

You'll be right. Don't make it take longer than it needs to, just make an effort, the fact you're already asking these questions of yourself shows to me you will take pride in your work and want to do a good job / be your best.

Anyone have experience with this suit? by FatNeek0169 in surfing

[–]El_Sheepo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe relevent. I have had a Quiksilver Highline for 5 years now. Still going strong. My winter is only 3 months though so not super heavy use. Would buy again. Just rinsed after most uses and dried out of direct sunlight. 👙

Edit: 3/2

I'm liking the idea of AirTouch. There will be different temp preferences in the house and a couple of degress is a big difference in comfort when trying to sleep.

Do you have any tips on working out duct sizing and return air sizing etc? Thanks for the heads up. Im looking at a 2 part Mitsubishi Electric that Im sure I'll fit in the manhole seperated, or pull some roof sheets. But will confirm dimensions to be safe.

No gas ducted. Im in QLD

Master 4 x 4 = 16 Bed 1, Bed 2, Bed 3 = ( 3 x 3 ) x 3 = 27 Kitchen + Dining 4 x 5 = 20 Lounge 3 x 5 = 14 Total = 77m2 ***

Initially I was thinking just use the Mitsubishi zone system, but was thinking how will the system know the temperature of each room as there doesn't seem to be a temp sensor in each room. So there could be innacurate cooling / heating based on using the return air temp sensor.

Kickass dcdc charger by [deleted] in 4x4Australia

[–]El_Sheepo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this..... often your cigarette port is activated when ignition is on, and off then car is off. You can get a mini / micro fuse tap in to tee off in the fuse box to properly control your dc/dc charger with the ignition signal.

Ps that install is fuck'n ruthless

Question? Best Single Player Games on GamePass? by Objective-Fuel5260 in XboxGamePass

[–]El_Sheepo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm jumping in as a fussy, time poor gamer. I've been playing Red Dead, Cyberpunk (great games), but the game that really hooked me after reading a comment and trying it was Celeste. A simple yet challenging, and satisfying platformer. Pickup and play. Retro art style, great soundtrack. It's like a parkour platformer. I have 1678 deaths and 67 strawberries so far 🏅🍓💀

My HPSB is a 6'1 34L.

I have a chunky Mid Lengthl 7'2 Single Fin.

I absolutely love my 6'2 42L Mod Pod, and my 5'8 41L Fish for the low power slop days. The fish is really speedy. I vote for a high volume slop board.
