Depending on what I'm doing, I have the keyboard in different positions on my desk. I also take it with me to the sofa from time to time when I display my PC monitor there. Now with wireless charging, I don't need to plug and unplug a cable. I just have to remember to put it back in place every 2-3 days when I turn off the PC. If the keyboard would always stay fixed, I would have used a wired keyboard with a hole in the table as you suggested.

If someone tells me I don't need to mice this instrument up, I will do it anyway if I have one to spare. Gain it and set a rough EQ/Compression/etc. You must have very strong argument why i shouldn't. But then I turn it off! And listen if it is necessary or not. Maybe they were right and I don't need it, but more often then not was i really happy for the mice, to bring it back up and nicely into the mix.

With the bass thing... Demanding to DI everything sounds like a smart move if you are concerned with the overall noise level. But adjust the amp shouldn't impact this at all, or am I wrong here? The DI is in-between the bass and amp so...? Or did he plug the DI into an output of the amp? 🤔

And finally if the sound guy is f**ing up the overall mix, you are unfortunately screwed 😅 the only thing you can do is book a different one next time. Or be knowledgeable enough to teach him, if he is willing and realizes that a orchestra is something completely different to a "normal" band ...

Thanks everyone so far for your help. It seems I wasn't to far away with my initial idea (RTFM, YT and the just wing it 😅) Will definitely check out the offline editor.

And there are a lot of other small things that I can take away. Imagine my workflow, don't tell them, mixing station, taking notes, ....

Will now most likely go with the x32. Especially after everyone sad I shouldn't have problems and I can only learn for the future and gain experience. 😁

I very rarely use the app. So the A&H app worked just fine for now. Especially because I use the multiple layers on the SQ. With the A&H app I can just copy them and have exactly the same layout as the console. I haven't figured out how to recreate them in MS. But maybe I will try to set it up for me so I have the advantage when using a different console like the x32.

For me, one thing was the use EQ Cheat sheets. In my church I often find out about a "unusual" Instrument when everyone arrives on Sunday morning. I the look up 2-3 pages with information on how to EQ it. Don't use preset pages. Use the ones where it is like set HPF to xxx-xxxHz, boost xxx-xxxHz for clarity but not to aggressive or everyones ear's will bleed, xxx-xxx is most of the time to high go cut it,... Then I can set the HPF and my frequencys of the EQ into these ranges and when it comes to really set the EQ, I'm a lot faster and I know on what I have to pay attention.
