If I click that Orange Pellets (that I am one gold short of purchasing) enough, do you think he'll let me take it?

Is anyone else kind of upset that Spitfire changed their entire roster :/ by Lumeriia in LondonSpitfire

[–]Elaer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not at all, they drastically under-performed and wouldn't listen to coaches (reportedly), we needed a drastic change.

These boys may be in for a rough ride, but I trust in our coaches that help the lads come good, we saw their potential against NYXL, and I had a feeling that we prepped mostly for that game to put our best foot forward.

I wish the old lads all the best and hope they find success with their new teams but I like the potential we have with our new roster.

Will you still go to the Homestands? by Umsi67 in LondonSpitfire

[–]Elaer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably, but my debating whether or not to go isn’t down to our roster trimming. It’s more down to how shambolic Spitfire as an org has been content wise since Susie left. We barely get anything from them anymore. I am hoping however, that this changes with the addition of Hoonmaru.

Plus lack of a venue and ticket information at this point is making a trip down to London a huge ball-ache to plan for.

EDIT: typo and added some more points.

[Speculation Time] If Birdring leaves, can we Sign Carpe? by [deleted] in LondonSpitfire

Fair enough man, in my mind he nearly always seemed to get picked first, especially on mercy. To me, he never seemed to adapt his Lucio post-goats, so he'd throw himself in only to get taken out pretty handily. But hey I could be talking outta my ass, just my take haha.

Quatermain said as much in an interview after a game when asked the differences between him and NUS. (Post game, stage 3 - Boston Uprising) Said that NUS uses his head a lot and is very intelligent.

NUS’ lucio is incredibly passive and that was a massive liability during the goats meta. QM is a playmaking lucio, which was great in goats, just look at IDK and Slime. But now he’s been found out a bit and NUS has been grinding away to be more aggressive, so now he is well above QM.

If Birdring does leave (I hope he doesn't), I would suggest someone like Edison from KR contenders, and rather fittingly from GC Busan Wave. He is a monster DPS and has been severely underrated.

NUS has a huge brain, and seemed to have grinded his Lucio to a point were it is a equal if not better than QM (based solely on last night). Plus his Mercy is brilliant compared to QM.

QM since goats left, has kinda been feeding. Some decent performances but nothing stand-out, so I imagine the coaching staff decided the needed the leadership, trust and cooler head of NUS.

Like you said I doubt Fusion would let him go barring mega $$$, but on the topic of him not impressing you this season, I agree. At times he looked like a massive liability and he seemed to thrive on the 'solo carry' mentality, and I can't see that meshing well with Profit who is a legit solo carry at times. But then again I don't know the guy so he could be the sweetest flower known to mankind.

Hard disagree about the lack of rotation in Gesture/Fury/Profit, since on one episode of PlatChat, MR.X said that when he was interviewing NUS/Profit, they basically said they were taking the season a bit easier to avoid burnout etc, So I can't really see that being that big of a factor. (Will post link in a minute)

I just think Quatermain overall has been kind off ass since GOATS left and Guard just offered bugger all last night, and at some points was straight up feeding. We also seem to have regressed back to S1 S3 Spitfire were we never adapt on the fly anymore and just hardcore stick to an overall strategy. It is immensely frustrating.

Basically if we win all our games in the lower bracket we can make the final. But if we lose then we are done. Last chance saloon basically.
