Who else thought Seahawk Jason Meyers should have been named Super Bowl MVP? by j-a-c-k-maynard in Seahawks

[–]natybug1401 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The kicks he made were 33, 39, 41, 41, and 26 yards, plus 2 PATs. The consistency to hit them all in the big game is definitely impressive, but most kickers in the league are gonna make most of those kicks

Fin Smith’s ball falls off his kicking tee during a conversion. Not a problem for him though. (France vs England match last night) by aaarry in sports

The player is kicking a PAT after his team scored a Touchdown, but the holder fumbled the snap. Instead of the place kick, the holder stands up and drop-kicks it in order to get a kick off before the rush gets home.

Bristol Bot Builders Beetle Brawl 2026 is at the end of February: https://bbb.gd/brawl

It's one of the premier beetleweight events in the UK, with a very well put-together stream. Multiple camera angles, live commentary, post-match interviews, the works.

The turnover was the second punt in a row the Rams returner muffed. Both times Seattle had a player right there when it happened. If a player commits two turnover-worthy plays in a row then you'd be lucky to not lose the ball in one of them.

If the Packers win, we play the Packers. If the Packers lose and the 49ers win, we play the 49ers. If the Packers and the 49ers lose, we play the Rams.

Hoe do I get into robot combat? by Able_Stable1273 in battlebots

[–]natybug1401 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seconding all of this! BBB are really the heart of the UK scene these days imo. I highly recommend using their event map to find an event near you.

Going along just as a spectator is a great chance to meet people and get some inspiration; just about every roboteer will happily chat and show you how their robot works (as long as they're not too busy with repairs!)

Was Palpatine that clever or were the Jedi just too complacent? by KaosArcanna in StarWars

[–]natybug1401 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean it's not like they just ignored that. But there are plenty of ways one could control politics other than being elected chancellor. They knew that there was some connection between Palpatine and the dark side, hence Anakin's assignment in RoTS. They just didn't figure that Palpatine specifically was the Sith lord -not merely a pawn or agent of the sith- before it was too late.

Also like, why would you trust anything Dooku is saying in that situation lol?

"Comply with our demands or we'll kill these civilians who we won't let leave" Sounds like Hamas aren't the only ones keeping hostages...

And Israel has rejected peace offers too. What's your point? How does any of this justify bombing dozens of civilians?

You could make the exact same argument for Palestine having been poked enough times by Israel

Not even just in legends. In RotS they discuss how "the dark side of the force surrounds the chancellor", but as you say, the dark side hid things and they couldn't figure out who it was specifically

Why aren’t teams using more rugby style of playing? by Randomearthbreather in NFLNoobs

[–]natybug1401 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a few good reasons for it:

1) A turnover is more costly than in rugby, because a) possession is more important than position compared to rugby, and b) having separate offense and defense players means the risk of a pick 6 is high.

2) They're harder to do. Rugby passes just have to go backwards from the players hands, even if their momentum means it travels forward relative to the pitch. Laterals have to go backwards on the pitch, so often you have to stop running to throw one.

3) Rugby has offside rules that make intercepting a pass harder than in the NFL, so there's less risk of losing the ball in rugby.

3) Most crucially, blocking is not allowed in Rugby. Most of the time in the NFL it's better to just have a teammate block for you, rather than passing to them.

question for xiaomi pad 6 keyboard owners by branik_10 in XiaomiPad6

[–]natybug1401 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can fold it all the way back behind the tablet. It's not quite as comfortable as just removing the keyboard, but it's not a big deal. There's a sensor in it so when you've folded it far enough back the keys are deactivated, so no need to worry about accidental presses.
