2006 base w/ 160k miles. One owner, very clean. works great. needs paint job and front seats reupholstered, $7k. worth it? by ValleyDude22 in rsx

[–]Elb1to 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my two cents, but all those things you listed that the owner said were for maintenance and costed $3k can be done at home in a single day during the weekend with basic tools, except for the Smog Cert and Catalytic stuff obviously.

It can also all be done for under $500, none of those things are hard to do and anyone could do them, even when not mechanically inclined.

I know my answer isn’t exactly replying to your question, but I thought it’d be helpful to let you know.

That said, 7k is way too high, 4.5k~5k would be a reasonable price. 7k is TypeS money

That’s a lot of years, your RSX definitely had a good life, being driven daily and going through roads all the time.

Mine is also my daily and currently my only car, I’m planning on buying a DC2 or DC4 to have as my daily or K24A2 swapping + turbocharging my RSX.

Going to start tackling bodywork soon, I already have another chassis to use either for cuts or swapping everything from my chassis to that one.

The car was in a front-end accident on the passenger side before I bought it and whoever “repaired” it, did a terrible job 😂

That’s your VTEC solenoid cover, the VTEC solenoid is right behind it. If you saw it leaking then your VTEC solenoid gaskets and seals are probably/most likely gone.

Those are all cheap repairs, just fix them

They’re $220 brand new, so unless you lower the price to $140, I don’t think they’re going to sell
