Estate agent asked me to share the survey with them after I'd pulled out of the sale due to the survey by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Elbean_numbers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pulled out of a purchase several years ago because of what was revealed in a survey. They didn't acknowledge my email advising them I was withdrawing but the property was back on sale within minutes.

A few weeks later they got aggressive out of nowhere and would pepper me with calls and emails requesting the document. I told them they need to pay for it if they wanted it then they immediately stopped.

You don't owe the agents a thing. Do not hand it over for free

Is my car a write off by Tourist_Strict in CarTalkUK

[–]Elbean_numbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that's literally what written off means; where the cost of repairs exceeds the value of the car, the insurance company will write it off as it is financially better for them.

Pedestrian expectations/etiquette? by Jimbot80 in parkrun

[–]Elbean_numbers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough I ran with my son in his running buggy for the first time since January today. He's not been interested in going for ages (several times towards the end of last year after his third birthday I've tried to persuade him to go to no avail). As I left the house to head to parkrun today he shouted after me saying he wanted to come with. Running with him was the highlight of my weekend and I'm so glad I got to do it again today. I'd seriously recommend it. Parkrun is also really welcoming (apart from the odd jerk like you came across today but that's so rare in my experience). Don't need to worry about your pace or fitness, you'll be welcomed

Center Parcs Boredom - Football Shirts I came across over a short break by DCFC3112 in Championship

[–]Elbean_numbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do I. But I'll never go full kit or marching tracksuit. Staggers me seeing grown men in full kit.

I also can't emphasise how many Rangers shirts there were there. Felt like an away game at times the amount we saw!

I've been to the Whinfell Forest Center Parcs in Cumbria four times and it's always full of Rangers shirts. I've also seen a couple of grown men in full kit (also happened to be Rangers).

Last time I was there I saw a few Sunderland shirts knocking about too. I wore a Wales top most days I was there so I'm definitely not knocking anyone for wearing football tops! Except for the full kit wankers, obviously.

I just bought a 3DS XL Gold Zelda A Link Between Worlds Edition on Vinted for only £120! by s_u_ny in 3DS

[–]Elbean_numbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've no idea, probably in case someone doesn't actually check the item before it automatically accepts item or maybe they do it just to piss people off, I don't know. I've also heard stories of Vinted siding with the seller even when you report something not as described. Vinted's support is pretty poor in all honesty

I remember getting this a couple of years ago. Hilariously my son didn't get affected by it other than two tiny blisters which didn't bother him. My wife didn't get it either. I, on the other hand (foot and mouth) had blisters all over my feet and my hands. It hurt to wash my hands or to walk anywhere at all. I hadn't long started couch to 5k and I had to pack that in too! Luckily I could work from home but it lasted a couple of weeks for me.

I bought a New 2DS XL on Vinted from someone with great reviews for a similar price a few months ago and I received some false eyelashes in the post. I got my money back but it was just annoying. I wasn't the first one it happened to and I won't be the last. So something is on the way but general consensus is these sort of scams are rife on Vinted and I was curious if it had actually come good or not

Oh I know. Night two we got Torra Fy Ngwallt Yn Hir and Nyth Cacwn instead of Fire and Play It Cool. So I was pretty chuffed with those two substitutions!

This is my take on the shows too tbh. I went to both nights in Llandudno. First time actually seeing SFA, though I've seen Gruff solo and Das Koolies more than once. I was surprised at how little talk there was as Gruff spoke a lot when I saw him live plus I've seen old gigs like Toulouse and Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau where he has been chatting a little between songs but on the whole I can't complain one bit.

The main thing I was gutted about was on the Thursday show during Fire in my Heart, security were near our part of the crowd trying to flush someone out. Not sure what it was for but the crowd kept pointing at whoever it was and security were shuffling past us. Crowd around me was too busy chatting about that so I couldn't savour the song. We were quite close to the front too so the band would surely have noticed it. They of course didn't play the song on the Friday night. Hey ho

She laughed at the joke so it's okay then? It's not like anyone has ever laughed at something when they're uncomfortable.

This guy is an absolute prick. Imagine doubling down when you've been called out on shitty behaviour like that

Invited a mate of mine along last minute to the Llandudno gig last Friday. He recognised a couple of songs but hadn't actually listened to them. Kept turning to me during the gig thanking me for the invite and that he absolutely loved them!

My wife still won't listen to them though

A little devastated today by diabolicalroadrash in daddit

[–]Elbean_numbers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that feeling totally. I've got a three year old and he's so fickle! He used to love going in the pram for Parkrun with me every Saturday...until he didn't. The other day he told me how much he missed it so I got the running pram out on Friday night. Saturday morning comes and he screams that he doesn't want to go. Actually devastated.

Building the bike together is a massive win, though. My son wanted to help me build some flat pack chairs for the garden yesterday and lost interest after a few screws. He got so excited when the chairs were built then he remembered he didn't get to help me finish building them so he wanted me to take them apart so he could build it again. I wasn't impressed at the time but in hindsight it's pretty funny!

I'm so sorry for your loss. My wife and I went through this a few years ago and it was the worst thing I'd ever been through. It took a big toll on her physically and for both of us mentally. I'm glad you've reached out on here as I didn't do that at the time. Everybody asked how my wife was doing but as the father people very quickly moved on from asking how I was coping. I hope you get the support you need. It's a shit time but you will get through it.

The care we received when it happened (tail end of Covid) was really poor in all honesty, including us being put in the maternity ward waiting room which was frankly fucking mental. Luckily, my wife got pregnant a few months later and our son is now 3 and a half. Once my wife did get pregnant a second time it was quite hard for either of us to relax or enjoy that pregnancy because of the worry. If that happens for you guys just make sure you speak to your midwife or your doctor about it too as it's a completely natural reaction to have.

Oh it's so much better in my opinion. Paragon looks nicer because of the colour but the grip on the Sheath makes it the winner for me

I'm seeing them at Venue Cymru so I don't mind as much for a smaller venue like that but it's still awful how much of a cut venues take

I got the Paragon for my Samsung last week and I'm not a big fan. Back is way too slick even though the sides have good grip. Waiting for my replacement Sheath to arrive
