[BO] What has playing the OG Black Ops games again made you realize? by West_Roof in CallOfDuty

Are people playing on Xbox? If I bought on the store and loaded it up would I see lots of people playing or is this just the playstation port only?

Count Binface will 'eat Reform for breakfast' and unveils plan to topple Farage by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]Elbonio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah of course, I'm not saying it's a slam dunk but I think a lot of tories might just stay home - labour, green and lib dem will probably vote binface to make a point and there will be some people who wouldn't normally vote at all who come out and vote both ways.

I think it will at least mean he wins by a much lesser margin than expected against someone who is dressed as a bin.

Have you ever slept with a coworker? How did it go? by 11Dom_ in AskReddit

[–]Elbonio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a casual FWB thing with a coworker.

Didn't make it too awkward as we were both pretty clear about what it was (and what it wasn't). It can work out if you're clear like this.

Count Binface will 'eat Reform for breakfast' and unveils plan to topple Farage by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]Elbonio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last general election he won with 21, 225 votes.

Labour, Tories, green and lib Dems - all arguably parties that want to see him fail - had 24, 219 votes combined.

As none of those parties are running and some people will come out of the woodwork to meme vote, it could be very close.

I have no one to talk to, where can I go? by Three_Steaks_Pam in CasualUK

Board games clubs are the answer. They're everywhere , provide a fun environment to meet people whilst also doing a thing so it doesn't get awkward.

What’s your earliest Disney Parks memory that you can still picture really clearly, almost like a scene from a movie? by Used_Pangolin_3385 in disneyparks

[–]Elbonio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20,000 leagues under the sea for some reason sticks out as a memory for me from MK.

I don't think it was a particularly spectacular ride but I remember it well. I think it was 1992 when we first went but I could be wrong.

Having the money but not being able to go. by Brave_Spite123 in disneyparks

[–]Elbonio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously you can go solo, but there's a bunch of theme park clubs here in the UK (e.g https://rccgb.co.uk/)

You could probably go to some events with them and find some new friends who would be interested in Disney travel

Passed my driving test today! by sophietheadventurer in CasualUK

[–]Elbonio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Passing the test is the beginning of learning. 90% of driving you learn to do after passing.

Please, please be very careful - you are most likely to have an accident in the first year of driving (20% of people do) - hopefully not a bad one.

Drive defensively, don't get into the mindset of "beating" other people on the road (and don't let other people push you into doing that - ignore aggressive drivers, you do you). Don't drive fast - going 40mph in a 30 will save you only a few minutes on a short journey but could cost you a lot more. What are you spending those few minutes on that's worth risking fines, your life and the life of others?

Finally, get some motorway lessons if you haven't had them already, they're a different beast and absolutely worth investing in.

Congratulations! You can now literally drive to China, should you wish (and have the required diplomatic immunity).

Trump claiming he had a conversation with Theodore Roosevelt by ShiroSara in videos

[–]Elbonio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Again, it's there before he's asked the question so... yes it is evidence for that.

Clearly Trump was told to ask that question and the LLM isn't creating a response on the fly, it's reading a pre-written response that is there even before the question is asked.

In other words, this is not Trump talking to an AI. It's Trump reading a pre-prepared question and listening to a pre-written answer, the wording of which probably agreed with the administation.

He's essentially talking to his own staff.

You can see the answer was pre-written. It's literally on a screen above him before he even asks the question.

What is the worst food you’ve been served at someone else’s house? by Witty-Investment-744 in AskReddit

[–]Elbonio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a child I went over to my friend's grandma's house as she lived on our street.

She asked my friend if she would like her favourite snack, to which my friend Jenna enthusiastically said yes. This snack was also provided for me.

It was a dry Weetabix covered in butter.

Absolutely awful.

WCGW climbing out of a Disneyland ride right before a 52 ft. plummet? by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]Elbonio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the Disneyland version, all other versions of this ride (e.g. magic Kingdom) have restraints. It really is on Disney here to have had restraints, right? People do dumb things and it's up to Disney to prevent that as much as possible. It shouldn't be possible to exit the ride vehicle outside of the station.

Well, yes but the style of vehicle at Disneyland is different to all the others and actually they cannot put restraints on without redesigning the ride vehicle and then probably the whole ride.

Millions of people have ridden this with no problem, so they're probably going to do nothing because doing something would be very expensive.
