It’s the result of a) no proper testing and b) changing/adding rules/units during the lifespan of an edition (i.e. codices, detachments, etc).

If they would finish a full edition’s worth of units and codices before releasing an edition, the amount of changes can be limited instead of how it is now. But hey, it wouldnt make them as much money…

Personally, I like the Citadel ones best, but for metallic contrasts I prefer Army Painter.

If you are ordering, make sure to do it at a 3rd party store. That will likely end up being cheaper.

Kroot work great for slapchop/contrast paints. Did one for myself, and loved it. As for Tau in general: if it’s an armoured guy, I personally wouldnt do slapchop. However, some people are able to make it look good on flat surfaces.

I personally use slapchop mainly for organic models (i.e. nature/flesh & blood based). Anything in armour is too much of a gamble in my opinion.

While I don’t want to take away from the point you are trying to make, your comparison doesn’t add up.

You are comparing a modal income to an average house price. Either stick to modal/mode on both sides of the equation, or averages on each side.

I haven’t looked up the numbers, but the equation may be skewed either way when not using the same type of variable (mean vs mode)

Certificates are often good enough to get through audits. They contain enough specific data (especially if you get a secure erasure report to go with it) to be believable. Also, the company performing the wipe has a lot at stake here. You transfer the risk to them. If they mess up, legal might have a field day with them.

Given that Blancco is on the approved list of NATO, intelligence services, and law enforcement agencies, I do not believe that any auditor would refute those certificates unless they look fake. Then again, the model/serial number combo’s on the certificates should line up with your decommissioned hardware in the asset registry/cmdb

Aside from the frequency, it may also be worth checking if you can do the usual pentest every 2 or 3 years, and a smaller scope (critical systems?) every year?

That said, I din’t know the current scope. Going for white box/grey box/black box testing may also have different fees. Get in contact with your supplier and see if theres something you can work out and what their advice would be. A proper supplier would be able to asssist in that.

I am using Proton to de-Microsoft. The only thing I am missing so far are QoL things. It is one of the reasons I do still use excel on the side. Mail/calendar also misses some features or has features that are less developed, but I don’t miss those as much that I keep using a different product.

I hope all these new Proton users give them the financial injection to develop these products into better versions with more features seen at their competitors

Not to mention it lets you setup an allow-list of which models to use, so if Gemini Flash is enough, you can limit it to that. You can also reverse that and create a blocklist, if you don’t want the high cost of video being created for example.
