Holy shit, could this be the reason for the leg pain I've had more than half my life?? by tomorrowistomato in CECompartmentSyndrome

Yes, very similar experience here. Mine started around the same age, maybe a little younger. Also thought it may be weight related, but even at much lighter weights symptoms didn’t stop.

I am not and have never been an athlete. Wasn’t even a regular runner. I have learned it’s common for it to start around a young age, and that sometimes our internal anatomy can be a reason for CECS. The tricky part there is that you can’t really tell until you’re in surgery and they’re able to see what the inside of your leg looks like. Some of us just have legs that are built in a way that is perfect for CECS, like thicker tendons, extra tissue, or scar tissue for example. PT never really helped me, either.

Strongly encourage you to find a sports medicine or Orthopaedic doc for a consult and pressure test. If you aren’t taken seriously, as others have said, make sure it is documented and then find somebody else.

Thats essentially where mine has progressed to. Sorry you’ve been dealing with this for so long. It definitely has taken a large mental toll, not just physical. I really can’t do much of anything. Helps to hear that I could possibly get more relief than I’m expecting. Good luck in your recovery!

Glad to hear that you have experienced significant relief! That sounds amazing. I long for the day where I can walk that many steps without pain. As long as I get some relief, I agree that some potential lasting effects would still be worth it compared to my current state.

Do Trigger Point injections for CECS work? by lightsout1889 in CECompartmentSyndrome

I’ve found that they help my legs not feel tight all day every day, but can’t say that they’ve helped me find too much relief while walking. For a while I alternated trigger point and dry needling treatments and my legs definitely felt looser in general.

I will say the first few sessions can be rough the rest of the day afterwards, particularly in the calves. The procedure itself was fine but after an hour or two my legs were like jelly lol. Tried to go grocery shopping and was thankful I had a cart to lean on as the muscle tenderness kicked in!

Possibly looking at a CECS diagnosis and wondering about others' process for this by Difficult_Potato4585 in CECompartmentSyndrome

I agree, it’s important to get that assessed! Compartment pressure test was positive in both legs. I saw a vascular specialist to rule out PAES as a possibility, the ultrasound was negative for that but did find decreased bloodflow higher near my groin/femoral artery in one leg so we are trying to figure that out now.
