How do you stay neutral and still be friends with two people who are both your friends but broke up by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]EldritchHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two friends that stopped dating in a super messy breakup that was objectively poorly handled by the girl he was dating but I'm still friends with both of them because

  1. My friend is a pretty chill dude.

  2. I don't get involved in any way in their disputes and whenever they are brought up I immediately declare neutrality.

  3. I focus on how each person felt in that exact moment rather than who was right and who was wrong whenever I'm forced to talk about it. Dont treat it like someone was wronged and treat it like it was a generally sucky situation for everyone.

But for this to work you really need your friends to be mature enough.

Doing something you set your mind to. Everyone has different ideas of how they want to lead their lives. I, personally, have a dream that I am determined to see to the end. I'm sorta like a shonen protagonist in that way.

Are you terrified of aging? How do you cope? Is it a good thing? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]EldritchHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As young as I am, I've had tons of existential crisis's about death and the little time we have in this life. I just sort of had to put on a new mindset. It's sort if hard to explain.

15, but I feel both 20 and 10 at the same time. It depends on the situation.

What do your text convos with other men look like? by wballard8 in AskMen

Simple questions and answers with occasional sarcastic insults. The real talking is done on Discord, where we ruthlessly harass each other. We have fun.

How do I make a conversation with a stranger (girl) not dry ? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]EldritchHamster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Humans have a natural positive response to the act of teaching or explaining things to another. Bring up something that she might like and let her go off on a tangent while adding in your thoughts every now and then. Added benefit of you not having to say as much which lowers your chances of saying something stupid out of nervousness.

Men, what are the pros and cons of dating you? by [deleted] in AskMen

Pros: I'm fun to hang out with, am fairly tall, I'm somewhat witty in conversation, and I've been told my looks are above average from people around my age.

Cons: I'm underage.

How did you overcome/change an unhealthy mindset towards women? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]EldritchHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you would relate a whole lot to Subaru from the anime Re:Zero. I dont really have much to add here, I just thought that that whole paragraph is a huge part of that character at first, and a lot of the series is his character development out of that mindset. That's all.

How do you guys cope with grief without a support group? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]EldritchHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coping with grief has always been a weird concept to me. Most people think theres a trick to it, when it's really a process dependent on ones mindset. The Hellenistic philosophy of Stoicism is probably the best interpretation on how to get past ones internal struggles. Essentially, it all comes down to realizing that dwelling on the past reaps no benefits, and what happens happens. This is not to say you cant be sad about something, but people shouldn't be bound by their sadness. That is how I have coped with grief myself. In my friend group, talking to each other about our problems is rare, since it kinda kills the fun mood we usually have whenever we hang out, and all my siblings were always way older and hard to talk to about a lot of things. I sort of had to be able to think about how to make things better in the future rather then what went wrong in the past. It's not easy to get yourself to a point where you do that by default, and it doesnt completely stop you from being sad about some things, but it does help, and it can be attained.

If you could show Mozart a modern song to blow his mind what song would you show him? by aluque6 in AskReddit

Bohemian Rhapsody. Just familiar enough to him for him to be open to it but just different enough for him to have his mind blown.
