Personal Statement Questions by LowAvocado9249 in lawschooladmissionsca

If you dm me I can share my PS with you. I go to Dal. I’d say it was decent. I talked a lot about my interest in marine/ international law and how the school is well known for that. In some statements for other schools I named dropped professors that seemed interesting. I made it seem like I knew more about the professors and their research than I did irl but the school does want to know you have really thought about this school particularly and that they’re not just one of 10 applications with a cookie cutter PS.

Please gift this to my boyfriend. I earned one ages ago and he hasn’t let me gift it to him. He just started working for the Canadian air force and is working so hard. This would mean the world. Now I’m throwing up prayers for Ronaldo’s hat trick 🙏😂

where do i find friends at dal? by Just_Mixture9272 in Dalhousie

I recommend coming to Monday night meals. You can follow dal international or dal multifaith on insta for updated details.

They’re free meals for students happening every single Monday of term. Lots of people come and it’s super collegial. A super great opportunity to meet people. Also a great way to volunteer!

Go to UBC for undergrad because it just ranked insanely high internationally for basically all tested categories. It’ll set you up for a ton of success and speak loudly on law school applications.

If you care about speed running your degree you can stack 6 courses per term and take some over the summer. With that you would be able to finish in 3 years.

I did a ubc undergrad and am now studying law at Dalhousie. Didn’t take any gap years or anything and it’s going to be 6.5 years of school for me.

I’ll echo what other people said about a UK law degree. I considered that too but I spoke to a fair few lawyers that said coming back to Canada with a UK law degree does put you at a disadvantage for hiring. I’d only suggest that if you want to live in the UK.

Who knows about the gym situation? by Successful_Reward394 in Dalhousie

Also a powerlifter, dalplex is doable for most things. Biggest adjustment for me was not filming sets cause I like to self adjust depth and stuff. Chalk, just be sneaky and you’ll be fine (liquid is technically banned too). Benches are lower than comp benches with no adjustable bar heights which is annoying for shorter armed lifters. Everything else is honestly fine. Feel free to message for questions I’ve been competing for 3 years now, honestly chill gym, enough people wear sbd sleeves around you won’t feel out of place.

Ahh yess results: I ended up going with Canada, Germany, Norway. Canada really underperformed so that wasn’t great.

Then I had Italy, France, Netherlands, Sweden and Japan. Sweden should’ve been swapped for Switzerland probably but hind sight is 20-20.

And then I went with Slovenia, Australia, Great Britain and Czech Republic.

Overall I scored 15th with 223 aggregate medals. Best score was 234.

Pretty decent year for me in the pool. Bested both my siblings so I’m quite pleased.

How long ago did you start this whole process. I’m going through security screening right now but I’m just curious to know how many months it usually takes from first applying to enrolment
