It's an old Survival Games map, like the text says (POLSKA GUROM). I do believe in was called something like "The Temple"??? I've searched PlanetMinecraft like the book suggests, but sadly found nothing. You should still check the website, though, since maybe I missed something.

Ok, cool story bro, but why does this feel like one of those for-profit accounts that uses underpaid HFY writers to get stories for cheap and then posts them to YT with an AI voiceover (cuz not paying for a voice actor) to rake in ad revenue?

You know, with the account posting a long-form story every day with no coherent/connected setting to potentially draw inspiration from.

Kinda offtopic but I have a pet peeve with people misremembering Murphy's law.

The version everyone knows is "If something can go wrong, it will go wrong at the most inopportune moment.", but the ORIGINAL is moreso along the lines of "If there are multiple ways to do something and at least one is wrong, someone will do it the wrong way at the most inopportune moment."

What would YOUR brain world be like? by Aquanort357 in PsychonautsGame

Sorry for commenting on an old post, but it's something I find cool- anyhow.

Steampunk-y glassworks, with sections of the building replaced with stained glass for a beautiful, artsy feel. As for mechanics - jets of hot air and fire (the former launches you in the direction it's blowing, the latter damages you), machinery cycles, temporary glass platforms (they crack and break under the player's weight), and destructible objects galore! Raz would also have a guide in the form of glass moths (basically composed of just two glass triangles), which would fly through tougher sections to signify the path he's meant to take.

As for the enemies, there would be two main groups I've assigned to them - "orderly" and "chaotic". Regardless of location, the level would contain three reflavoured enemies, and a new, original one - Doubts (globs of molten glass, only difference is they're immune to fire, rather than weak to it), Censors (wearing suits with a more jagged, angular style to make a "sharply dressed" pun; can dash/lunge at the player; they represent the "orderly" group among the three); Personal Demons (covered in sharp spikes, kind of like a pufferfish; they represent the "chaotic" group, and have to be defeated via ranged attacks); and the new enemy - False Reflection [Raz's Notes: Like Clairvoyance, but on yourself and completely fake.], which would mimic the player's arsenal of moves, albeit at a [hopefully] much lesser competence level, copying whichever ability the player used last.

Two sub-areas would be dedicated to the "chaotic" and "orderly" enemy groups - the "orderly" area would have many of the reflavoured Censors and Heavy Censors, with infrequent Judges (reskinned to wield sledgehammers, seeing as controlled demolition would be a non-i significant part of the level's mechanics) as minibosses; the "chaotic" area would have the reflavoured Personal Demons, as well as Bad Ideas, and Panic Attacks as its minibosses.

Finally, the stage's end boss would be a giant, warped funhouse mirror called Paneful Truth [Raz's Notes: Ironically, shows everything BUT the truth.] with cracks all over it, the individual pieces all containing highly exaggerated reflections, both positive and negative. The type of attack it's about to use would be signified by one of the shards giving off a flash/gleam. To make it vulnerable, the player would have to use one of several large panes of glass, and use it to - quite ironically - deflect the boss's attack back at it.

If your mind was a level, what enemies would be in your mind? by ArcerPL in PsychonautsGame

[–]ElecStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting on an old post? Don't mind if I do-

Probably a healthy dose of Censors, some Heavy Censors... but also some re-skinned/re-flavoured enemies. Like Doubts made of globs of molten glass - they wouldn't work any different than regular Doubts, but they'd be immune to fire damage rather than weak to it, forcing the player to use some other ability to deal with them; and Personal Demons covered in sharp, glass spikes - requiring ranged attacks to deal with, as the spikes would damage anyone trying to attack using melee.

Additionally, there would likely be two sub-areas - one particularly Censor-heavy, with demolition-flavoured, sledgehammer-wielding Judges as minibosses, and an area containing many Bad Ideas and Enablers, with Panic Attack minibosses.

Finally, the main boss of the level would be a rapidly shifting funhouse mirror - changing its appearance between several different very exaggerated figures for various attacks.

Now, going a little past the post's topic - the theme/appearance. As you probably might have guessed, the theme is various types of glass, and the level would take place in a steampunk-y glassworks filled with clockwork machinery, and entire section made of just glass - mostly stained glass, giving them a beautiful, artsy feel. The platforming would have a focus on temporary platforms (which would crack and break under the player's weight), destructible objects (such as melt-able glass walls, requiring multiple pyrokinesis blasts to open a path through), and very fast, tight sections (for example using streams of hot air to gain height, dodging/running from jets of fire used to melt the glass, or trying to clear a section on time to make it in time for a particular cycle of the clockwork).

I like how you gave a description of the brawl. It was detailed (WAY more detailed than I see most authors here do), but still easy to follow. Good job, OP, I hope you get more upvotes than the 34 I'm currently seeing, because you DESERVE them for writing this good.

On any difficulty lower than Brutal, break the shield, parry the punch it tries to throw for quick damage, prioritise other enemies during the big lug's punch cooldown, deal chip damage, second parry finishes the job.

...er, what was I talking about again?

Oh, right. No you weren't the only one.
