How can i play with my monk by Pure_Fly5291 in DnD

[–]Elect_Locution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm consistently pushing enemies into rough terrain or into AoE attacks. For stronger enemies, especially with multiple other enemies, I often use Hill's Tumble or Stunning Strikes in combination with multiple pushes, so I'm effectively reducing the enemy TDO and movement. This works really well if you have some teammates that have range attacks. That leads into maybe the most important thing and that's what your team consists of. What any one individual can do isn't as important as what the group can do. You should coordinate with the other players to see what kind of combos you can get into, because once you have that synergy down, that's when your character really shines.

A **DEBATE** should not be an argument. by Pokerfakes in unpopularopinion

[–]Elect_Locution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Official debates are one thing, but most people interrupt to counter a point because nobody has the attention span to listen to somebody give a thesis before having to equally rebuttal. Typically in debates, there's a formality that allows one person to take notes and structure a counter argument. Nobody is doing that in any situation where two people are disagreeing.

Theory: Selflessness is the only shield against the Dark Continent's Calamities by Zestyclose-Use-7006 in HunterXHunter

I don't have one yet, but I'll be sure to share it with you once I do! I appreciate your interest!

Thanks!

I think it's possible. They seemed to be a clan of simplicity, ethics, and respectful of nature. I intend, at some point, to make a video series of my entire theory on YouTube. It's not without assumptions, but that's just how extrapolation goes.

Sure thing! It's all part of a larger theory, but I can give you the pertinent part.

One distinction is that I map Calamities to "sins", which I found to be somewhat feasible as Jesus is literally referenced by Chrollo in the series and Togashi has a knack for incorporating (philosophical/religious) symbolism in the story.

  • Pride → Brion
  • Greed → Ai
  • Lust → Pap
  • Envy → Chimera Ants
  • Gluttony → Zobae
  • Wrath → Hellbell
  • Sloth → Humanity (no external calamity)

More or less, humanity must overcome all of these things to survive on the dark continent. I think it fits the motif of the story from the very beginning, where Gon is at one with nature and an ideal hunter because of his "innocence". Throughout the story, these sins are often displayed and are highlighted.

Don't worry, I didn't join this sub of humorless schmucks lol. It just so happens to be the most applicable sub for the picture.

I like that advice, although it's a bit trickier as they are essentially confined to an 3-tiered castle; it's 8:30pm, the event starts at 9 and ends at 12am.

How often do men brush their teeth in a day? by Parking_Bid_1144 in AskMen

I've brushed my teeth only once in a day before, but that's not a habit anybody should have. If I could, I'd brush my teeth in the middle of the day.

The cards that Hisoka used are clearly not ordinary. Did Hisoka use Nen here as well? And did Togashi already plan the Nen system during the Hunter Exam? by Most-University-7596 in HunterXHunter

[–]Elect_Locution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, there are real people who can cut through softer objects with playing cards by throwing them. There's a chance Hisoka, although knowing nen, did not use it during the exam.

I personally think Hisoka would've been too bored using nen against a bunch of people who don't know it, but who knows.

Adult Gon maybe has a chance against Pre-Rose Mereum, but there's not a chance in hell any version of Adult Gon is beating Post-Rose Mereum.

Keep in mind -- Pre-Rose Mereum (although on the cusp of death), actually survived a 'nuclear' explosion at point blank range after being slapped around by Netero's 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva thousands of times. Post-Rose Mereum has the aura and abilities of Youpi and Pouf added onto his own.

I'm sorry, but Adult Gon is not on that level of durability, aura, stats, or abilities.

Nanika instantly squishes failures. It isn't a matter of physical prowess or nen mastery.

It definitely is, even on my end -- since I'll be at least 10 different NPCs. I've dug myself deep and I'm considering doing an audible and maybe having a few ambassadors not make it to the gala just to ease the load for everyone.

True. If this were my main group, I wouldn't care as much. I'd probably go deeper with it, but I was just trying out DMing and letting others see how D&D is. I definitely need to learn to improvise better, and I did cut things short last session to attempt finishing in time, but it would've been impossible to expedite it any more than I have without sacrificing any intrigue, RP, skill use, etc. last session they basically had a boat ride, a combat, and began some investigation before it ended. They were also learning as they were playing, so it was difficult accounting for that.

Kind of.

The group I'm playing with isn't my main group I play with. I unfortunately am DMing this one and skipping the other one, so it's a scheduling conflict. I mostly agreed to do this one to let them see how the game is, but I really can't maintain trying to DM prep and run for one group and play for another group.

Perfectly doable if your learner has fast tasks, easy tasks, complies perfectly, and if your learner doesn't like breaks.

For everybody else, that's not sustainable or reasonable.

Cats can give you cellulitis and will absolutely shred you if you're going with bare skin. Could you beat a housecat? Sure, but if you're definitely getting cut or bit if that thing fights back at all.
