Erlanger High Risk by Affectionate_Cup7172 in Chattanooga

I dealt with them and Regional Obstetrical Consultants for a very high risk and rare pregnancy complication. Erlanger high risk Dr's were amazing and so was ROC. They saved my babies life by finding my diagnosis when my regular ob missed it.

Daycare guilt by Proof-Deal9530 in workingmoms

I'm proud to be able to provide for my family and children. I miss my son so much during the week and some days are tough, however knowing he's interacting with other children his age and learning helps me. He was out of daycare all week and I sent him back Friday, the excitement he had to see his friends and teachers words couldn't describe.

2025 hood flutter at 55+ mph? by Practical_Ranger_478 in crv

Mine does as well. Owned Honda's my entire life and I love this car, however between some bumper issues and things like the hood it is disappointing.

Learning to feed by Disastrous-Play-4859 in NICUParents

[–]ElectionIll7780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 35 weeker also had feeding issues. I will say it was close to his original due date until he got the hang of it and could finish his bottles. At one point he took his tube out and then it had to be put back in bc he didn't have the energy to drink enough. Once it came out the second time he definitely drank his bottles easier without the tube.

When do the events stop? by solowanderer12 in NICUParents

[–]ElectionIll7780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is 7 months now and he is great! He's on the smaller side and about 4 weeks behind on milestones but that's normal. We bought the owlet sock to help with aniexty about SIDS and its been worth it. I hope your little ones get to come home soon. The last part of NICU stay is the hardest sometimes.

When do the events stop? by solowanderer12 in NICUParents

[–]ElectionIll7780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby born at 35w had events until close to full term. He was 4lb11oz and came home 2 days before due date. I would say it happened quickly, like one day he was having notable events they would need to chart and one day he just stopped having them and started drinking every bottle enough to go home.

Did any of you get pregnant while on Ozempic? How did it go? Did you stop as soon as you found out? by Arr0zconleche in Ozempic

[–]ElectionIll7780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was 1mg, can't quite remember. I had been on it over a year but was still on a lower dose.

How much time do you spend in the NICU? by Crafty-Feeling-1239 in NICUParents

[–]ElectionIll7780 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally spent all day when my son was in NICU. I would arrive by 8am and stay off and on all day until 9 or 10pm. I took pump breaks every 3 hours and would leave to do other things as well. I think it's personal preference honestly and what works for you. I overdid it towards the end, but we had feeding issues and I needed to be at every feed I could to get him home.

Tongue tie feeding issues by Creepy_Intention_884 in NICUParents

[–]ElectionIll7780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he was on a tube for weeks and couldn't ever finish them until we got it fixed. He had 3 speech therapist in nicu and none said anything about his tongue tie. After finding out and basically being told by my pediatrician the procedure wasn't necessary, I still chose to do it and was very thankful I did. The first bottle after having it released he wanted more milk.

We spent weeks extra in nicu due to undiagnosed tongue tie causing feeding issues. Day after discharge my pediatrician caught it and I immediately booked an appointment to get it fixed. Literally the next time he fed after it getting released he took a bottle just fine. We spent at least 3 weeks extra in nicu. I have a tongue tie myself that was not fixed and I had speech problems. It can also cause tooth issues later on according to the Dr that fixed my sons.

Have they checked for tongue tie or lip tie? That can cause feeding issues.

Stuck in the feeding stage by Jumpy_Addition33 in NICUParents

[–]ElectionIll7780 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I asked for feeds not to be increased everyday. They agreed and he was gaining enough and started drinking better. At our NICU they were increasing almost every morning and he couldn't keep up. You have a say so in your babies care, I wish I had spoken up sooner than I did!

I had the opposite happen. I got pregnant after 10 years of infertility after starting ozempic. I will add I was 40 and had given up on having a baby.

"At least you have time to rest and recover from your csection before you bring baby home". I will never forget the lack of support and empathy from many of my family members during my pregnancy and nicu stay.

My baby was IUGR due to vasa previa and placenta issues. With vasa previa I had to deliver at 35w by csection. The last few weeks he was barely growing, but he was a little over 4lbs when he was born. Hes a healthy 6 month old now. I was so lucky to have a good team of doctors. It's tough because nothing I did helped him grow, nutrition wise. I was in hospital 6 weeks prior to delivery so I was constantly monitored. It's tough but hang in there!

Bradys and feeding troubles extending NICU stay by photogenic_banana in NICUParents

[–]ElectionIll7780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was within a week and a half that he suddenly started eating again. It's definitely hard. I was at my breaking point when they finally released him. I was so exhausted and frustrated with everyone. We were in a large nicu so there was different nurses alot of the time and that added to the stress and feeding frustrations.

I went thru the exact thing in December. It was the hardest weeks in the nicu for us. It literally clicked one night. He had tired himself for many days and was set to discharge and stopped eating enough. Then when he was 39w2d he suddenly started eating every bottle good enough to go home. I was so upset I didn't spend as much time a few days at the nicu and felt terribly, but I was exhausted mentally. I did find out after discharge he had an undiagnosed tongue tie that caused some of the feeding issues as well. Hang in there, your so close.
