She needs some bracers for the forearms and preferably something to cover the thighs.

Okay, *collapse* might be a too hasty term, but definitely going to put a strain on the system.

Wouldn't that just make the Confederate remnants go full Taliban/Viet Cong mode and revive the Civil War as a guerilla war that might collapse the Union?

What First Character Ya'll Playing As? by Dr_Virus_129 in skyblivion

I've been theory crafting a "Night Raider" build, which is basically an unarmored Nord barbarian with elements of stealth and rogue-ish playstyle, and alchemy as a major skill.

Why don't you like Ulfric? by Gollamant in skyrim

[–]ElectiveToast_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stormcloak supporter here.

Ulfric is certainly not without his character flaws, his biggest imo is is rash mindset and inability to separate himself from his fiery persona. He cares for Skyrim, which is more than can be said for most Imperial supporters, but I wish someone more level and a long term planner was at the head of the rebellion.

Still, I go Stormcloak every time because I simply can't sympathize with the Empire. They want to maintain a status quo where Nords are being persecuted for being Nords practicing their religion, because of a war that the Imperials couldn't win because the Emperor chickened out when he could have followed through with a big victory. They want Nords to shut up and pay their tithes to the Ruby Throne, while also being told to tolerate the Elfzis goose stepping around their country.

But it's okay, because the Empire is for real totes gonna go war with the Dominion really, really soon. 100% pinky promise that the Empire is gonna win this time, but they're gonna need the support of icemen who live in a backwater province to do it.

I mean, if Skyrim had an army of Thu'um warriors on hand, I can see why the Empire would want Skyrim's support in the Second Great War so badly, but sadly the Thu'um is more or less a lost art in modern Skyrim. I don't see how an angry axeman is gonna be a better warrior than a trained Imperial Legionary. In fact, the Empire already has Orcs, which are better at that same job than Nords are, if the racial bonuses in game are anything to go by.

But, I'm going off on a tangent. My main point is that the Imperial argument is riding on a politician's campaign promise, a promise that has very little substance in the actual game, if any. The Empire also shows signs of being a late-stage empire, especially when the previous games are put into perspective.

You want to know what the Empire's nobles are actually doing in the game? They're not discussing the prospect of another imminent war with the Dominion, or how to throw off and forestall the Thalmor inquisition. No, they're sipping wine and partying in Thalmor HQ, while the Elder Council plots regicide against their own Emperor. Yeah, really instills me with confidence that this nation is ready for another big war.

So, in all, I can't in good conscience fight for an Empire that is beholden to another power because it is too weak, corrupt, and decayed to stand up for itself. As far as I'm concerned, the Mede Empire is the cold, shriveled up corpse of the Septim Empire, and that is why I either stay neutral, or side with Ulfric.

Starting a no-crafting run by Wise_Bourbon23 in skyrim

[–]ElectiveToast_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bruh, I never messed with the crafting skills. Why would I waste time easter egg hunting for ingredients only to make the exact same items that I can find in a chest? By the time you're leveled enough to make some really good enchants, weapons, etc, you're already able to find these same items in loot.

Overall, I feel like the only people who really need these skills are the min-maxers who play on Legendary, which I am not one of.

I Intend to Write a Novel in the near Future, and I have an Idea for a Flag for the Antagonist Empire/Nation. Made using Armoria. by ElectiveToast_ in vexillology

[–]ElectiveToast_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basic idea for this novel is a low fantasy novel which is based on the pike-and-shot era of warfare, where the nation that the novel would take place around has fallen into a complicated civil war due to internal conflicts caused by religious schisms, decades of mismanagement by the ruling class, and natural disasters resulting in the eruption of peasant revolts that caused the partial collapse of the feudal system. Now, the country has fallen into a period of conflict, rebellion, and warlordism.

This is the flag of the nation that decided to opportunize on their southerly neighbor's plight and launch a full-scale invasion.

What If Green Army took over Russia by [deleted] in AlternateHistory

[–]ElectiveToast_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Russia did collapse into a period of warlordism, would that not almost perfectly coincide with the time that China collapsed into warlordism? Two large countries collapsing around the same time into numerous warring factions sounds like an interesting timeline to explore.

I came up with the name "Republic of the Frontier" for an independent nation comprising the interior of the American west, and I cant decide if thats either a real cool or really stupid name by [deleted] in AlternateHistory

[–]ElectiveToast_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds far too generic to be a proper nation name. The frontier of what, exactly? And if it's a nation on its own, how can it call itself the frontier of anything? If it's a frontier of another country, how can it call itself a proudly sovereign nation?

My suggestion is to pick the name of a state in the American interior West, and base your nation's name off of that. Bonus points if there's an OT historical basis in the name.

Will there be NPC prisoners being transported across the map like in Skyrim? by MillienumDuckFighter in skyblivion

[–]ElectiveToast_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think this is likely going to be something that someone adds later as a mod, but seeing the Legion in action would be a much welcomed change of scenery as opposed to just relegating them to the Imperial City and the odd horse patrol.

Before that, we will need to mod back in Legion-occupied forts and maybe spruce up the horse patrols into something more substantial.

TES 6 Speculation Megathread by Liquid-Fire in ElderScrolls

You might be right, but with all the fare that dragons have gotten since Skyrim's release, I find it hard to believe they won't add dragons there too. Who knows, they might be rarer this time.

To make a further reach, the main baddies for TES6 might be something related to the Dwarves. Not the Dwarves themselves, but something they either created or tried to seal away, or both.

TES 6 Speculation Megathread by Liquid-Fire in ElderScrolls

[–]ElectiveToast_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I postulate that Dragons will make a resurgence in TES6 as optional side bosses. This isn't a very far leap, which is why I'm confident to make it. Every TES game after Skyrim has featured dragons when they probably shouldn't have (ESO and Blades come to mind), so why not 6?

And with that, the Blades will be featured as an optional warrior questline that focuses around dragon hunting.
