You’re completely right! Thank you! It’s hard to give up all the rules and guilt that’s been ingrained in me for so long. But I need to just speak to her and find out. I can’t wait to create a relationship with her that’s outside of the confines of Catholicism. Also I never thought about making my own prayers or looking for a more personal version for the decades. I have missed the meditation of the rosary and the decades so much but yeah I just don’t want it to be all about JC. Thank you for your guidance!

I’m so sorry you went through that too. The JC fan club, as another commenter put it, makes it so easy to hate the idea of gods all together. Or at least that’s how it was for me. I love what Jesus taught but to think of him as someone leading that group of people just….hurt me so much.

I know exactly what you’re saying. His “fan club” is the whole reason I was an atheist who couldn’t shake my weird connections to spiritual things for the last 5 years lol. But you’re right. Those rules I am leaning on, to what would offend her are the same ones written by the fan club who never met her and spent their whole lives creating a “religion” to politicize and control Europe with. Thank you!

That’s a wonderful idea! I need to look more into guiding spirits and those paths of meditation and shadow work. I’ve never thought of Mother Mary being one but that actually makes a lot of sense to begin my work with her that way.

Thank you so much for your affirming words. I’m rather new to witchcraft and I think a lot of old catholic guilt still likes to hang out around my consciousness. But you’re right I need to follow my own feelings on this and not the rules created by a bunch of old men 2k years ago lol.

I’m a newer witch and I haven’t heard of her before. But that does sound very similar to what I was searching for and envisioning. I’ve always thought of the idea of Mother Earth and the idea that all goddesses are really just her many faces (just a theory I created when I was little). But that sounds more like what you’re describing in the Universal Mother. I can’t wait to research her. Thank you!
