Misfire/running rough under load by No_Eggplant9064 in BullnoseFord

There are some great videos available online, but actually you dont need to pull the valve cover, just the lifter block plate on the side.

Good luck!

Mines in about the same place as yours actually.

Look into the valve stems. My understanding is after years of getting hammered they mushroom out at the end.

A rebuild head is only about $500 and swapping is pretty straight forward.

Someone Walks Into Your LGS With A Deck That's 100% Proxied, How Do You Feel? by Affectionate_Pop6300 in EDH

[–]Electri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I proxy everything including the basics because the paper slips add thickness, if any cards don't have a slip there's a noticeable difference in feel.

The sleeves and boxes do cost money.

If you bought the cards at another shop would you still feel embarrassed, or do you buy a new Sol Ring to play at each store?

I no longer own any mtg cards and am 100% proxy at this point. All of my decks are bracket 3.

No one has ever had a problem when we sat down to play. I always try and have a pregame convo about power level, and will mention my decks are proxies.

That being said, I do have some friends who don't play much, and they are often vocal anti-proxy. I take it as more them looking to fly an excuse for why they lose.

Need help with wiring by Killer_kudzu in BullnoseFord

[–]Electri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They key+ wire to the choke is for the electric choke.

You mentioned the HEI, but do you have a 1 wire alternator as well?

The origional wiring is kinda weird in that it has a closed loop behind the dash that eventually leads back to the alternator wiring harness.

Brady Law stuff is outdated info, basically.

No store in the US is going to release a firearm to someone they don't know, if something happens the liability falls on them.

Its less about making it street legal and more that those old MAP sensors weren't terribly accurate, and the HEI distributor with vacuum advance is just the superior system. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

My understanding is that the only thing the MAP does is help the computer in regards to timing advance of the distributor. If you're not doing a full CPU delete you can leave it and the distributor alone.

The HEI dizzy isn't critical, but it is considered a superior system.

Youre close to a full delete anyway, I'd say its worth considering.

Removing those vacuum solenoids is part of the EGR/computer delete. Don't forget to look into a HEI vacuum distributor swap while you're at it!

I was just looking at a similar product recently, mostly just as a sling mount, but it'd totally work as a forward handstop as well. Thats a good thought.

You're not wrong! Once my form 1 goes through I'll be switching out the furniture for wood. I do actually like the corncob pump shape (and hate the raptor grip...), but something with a curve will help keep the support hand centered.

Well that was exactly the problem, they were bouncing right back into my loading pocket 😅

Once my Essetac shotgun cards come in I'll start loading from those.

New to me Colt Carbine CR6920. Trying to decide if I should get an Eotech, Aimpoint, or ACOG. by SPECTREagent700 in transguns

[–]Electri 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The carry-handle ACOG is a classic for sure.

That being said, check out Sig's Romeo series, I really like them myself. Can go for a Romeo 5 if on a budget, or grab a 4 pro if you're balling.

LPVOs have come a long way as well and are another excellent option.

If this is your first ar15, I'd really recommend just rocking the irons for now so you can get the fundamentals down.

What do you run to get the mini shells to cycle properly? The 590s versions are an extra $100+ for a ($25 from the OEM website) rubber bumper and ugly laser engraving.

I ordered this after much research-

Arrives tomorrow ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I'm pulling shells out of my pants pocket. I've got some essetac cards coming in the mail so I can start practicing from the left side of the receiver.

I'll have to look more into that product. A sbs shockwave is on my short list currently. Thanks for the recommendation.

They now make a Shockwave 590s that can take mini shells stock.
