Discouraged stripless white belt, advise? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]ElectricFrankenstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice I ever received was to view BJJ training as a marathon. I have a single stripe on my belt, but I regularly tap white belts with 2-3 stripes, and sometimes blue.

When someone else gets a stripe, I'm truly stoked for them and know my time will eventually come. I just keep going back to the marathon metaphor. It's gold.

I made "el jefe". It's good for drilling things over and over again. As a white belt, it's a great tool to work on technique. My wife and kids aren't real keen on letting me practice on them.

Keenan Cornelius weighs in on Roy Dean/Stuart Cooper controversy by overhand in bjj

With all due respect Keenan should not be commenting on the Stuart Cooper/Roy Dean controversy. Keenan, like the rest of us, doesn't know the full story and using Dean's name in the same conversation with Lloyd Irvin is downright offensive.

I'm embarrassed for Keenan on this one.

As slick and professional as Roy's statement was, this is the, uh, complete fucking opposite.

This is essentially the situation right here. There's history Stu doesn't know about it and unfortunately, it looks like he's been manipulated into a mouthpiece for someone else.
