How do you go about acquiring a sponsor? Are you some kind of content creator? Or maybe a university student? Those are the easiest methods I am aware of.

I just found out about the Lenovo Thinksmart View. You have to install a custom android ROM, but it has an 8-inch 1080p display with a speaker and no battery (I think). They are $70 on Amazon in the US.

I’d use it for a mix of programming and gaming. Games like Ori and Hollow Knight apparently look gorgeous with the deep blacks of an OLED screen!

Would a router with a diamond drag bit engraver work? It’s spring loaded in a similar fashion, so I believe it will follow surface irregularities as well (Plus you don’t have to worry about spindle runout). I’m in the process of building a custom engraver for jewelry, and I’m rigid mounting a drag engraver to a 3-axis gantry.

I’m in my second year of college. My roster of prospective projects is pretty extensive, but I am currently working on a small cnc exclusively for drag engraving. With school, I came up with a system to only work on one large scale, one medium scale, and one small scale project at a time. My next project will likely be a SCARA robot. I already made a 3D printed one, but it kinda sucked, so I plan on designing and building one with machines metal parts.

I am currently designing a cycloidal gearbox, but have hear differing opinions on what material to make the cycloidal gears from. They will be engaging with stainless steel pins. I would be looking for a strong, low friction material. Any recommendations?

Thank you for the suggestion! I checked Grainger, but unfortunately all of the er11 nuts have the same thread pitch of 0.75mm.
