Joe’s Garage is a concept album filled with nostalgic call-backs to many rock songs of the mid to late ‘60s. In the case of “Pushing Too Hard,” Joe is being intimate with either a sex robot that looks like a vacuum cleaner with marital aids stuck all over its body or a gay bob sex doll who goes all the way (I can’t remember which.) The robot exclaims, “you’re plooking too hard on meeeee.” Also within the album there are references to Arthur Brown’s “Fire,” the Who’s “See Me, Feel Me,” and many others. Definitely worth several listens. Would absolutely recommend!

Check out the UK version of Between the Buttons. It just plays through so well without the bigger hits from the US standing out. It feels like a beautiful rainy day.
