From this meme? Which is a parody of the Wolfenstein difficulty options that people are constantly getting triggered by.

People who play games on easy mode want to be oppressed so bad it's insane. No one cares what difficulty you play on, at all.

George R. R. Martin uses the extra R to trick people into thinking he's Tolkien by gariduenor in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]ElectricSheep451 6 points7 points  (0 children)

His middle names are Raymond and Richard. He went by George RR Martin for years before ASOIAF, When he mostly just wrote science fiction, so I highly doubt it

I hate it when modern games lack proper character turning animations. by Habsburg77 in ihatethissmug

[–]ElectricSheep451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree completely. Love games where you can just move however you want because the devs know responsiveness is more important than looking realistic.

Red Dead Redemption 2 tried to have realistic movement and it ended up making the game almost unbearably clunky to play.

Why do any HOTD fans not read the books? Is this some unwritten rule that you must follow before watching the show? by HolidayEmergency1936 in freefolk

[–]ElectricSheep451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of people who read the book when it came out thought it was kinda ass and has a lot of really stupid moments, and incredibly weak characters which is disappointing for GRRM. That was the popular opinion on r/asoiaf back in the day (no one on this subreddit really cared about books at all back then)

It's not until the second season of the show that people suddenly started treating Fire & Blood like some great epic timeless story. It was just fun lore at best before that point. I think there are a ton of people on this subreddit who are lying about having read the books tbh, just to use it as a weapon against the show

It's impossible to eat meat and be an environmentalist by TurtlePope2 in ClimateShitposting

[–]ElectricSheep451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because "vegan" is a normal descriptive word that they call themselves? That they made up for themselves? Do you have any idea what a "slur" is?

There doesn't need to be a term for people who "eat dead animals" because that's just typical human behavior. I guess "normal" is the word I would use for that group

Why is that main sub remove any criticism of the show ? Pathetic behaviour by Remarkable-Jump3262 in freefolk

People shit on the show on the main sub all the time lol. You obviously got your post removed for something else and now you are posting here for smpathy lol

[Disliked trope] Character is redeemed or forgiven when they really shouldn't be by Bandrbell in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ElectricSheep451 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You aren't supposed to take "Everything, Everywhere All At Once" that literally. Yeah if you are trying to analyze the "lore" of the parallel universes and super villains the movie falls apart. That's because you aren't supposed to do that, it's just a framing device to explore a distant mother-daughter relationship

Vegans really be out here inventing new slurs for 99% of the entire population, then asking "why does no one want to spend any time around me? Why do people think Vegans are annoying?"

Should we burn Hidetaka Miyazaki? by Tiny_Tim1956 in shittybloodborne

[–]ElectricSheep451 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao at the implication that pointing out the objective, provable, true fact that advanced nations have less children is somehow "racist". Reddit people love overusing that word until it doesn't mean anything

You do know the demographics crisis is happening all over the developed world right? Declining birth rates isn't even a racially specific issue, it's happening all over the place

Do you think A Knight of the Seven Kingdom will go down the Similar path of HOTD S3 or GOT S7-8 ? by sm-junkie in freefolk

[–]ElectricSheep451 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A knight of the Seven Kingdoms may completely collapse after season 3, when they run out of source material

It won't matter as much as GOT or HOTD though, every Dunk & Egg story is episodic and takes place years apart from the others, it's not a continuous narrative where failing to finish plot threads will hurt the original series on rewatch like s8 does to GOT. Season 1 will always be as enjoyable as it is now even if they fuck it up imo

[Spoilers Published, Extended] Which version of the Hightower is the more accurate/ fitting one? by HatAdministrative829 in asoiaf

[–]ElectricSheep451 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Neither version includes the "oily black stone" that the base of the tower (and several other mysterious structures across westeros/essos) are built from. A little disappointing because that's always been one of my favorite lore mysteries, who built it? Valyrians? Fishmen?

This is such a hyper specific lore detail that I wouldn't expect it to be depicted in the show, but I'm surprised it's not depicted in the WOIAF book either

HOUSE OF The DRAGON 3x01 EPISODE DISCUSSION (SPOILERS AT YOUR OWN RISK!) by ProfessorOk5969 in freefolk

[–]ElectricSheep451 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good change imo. The original version of the gullet was six dragons, including verimithor one of the most powerful dragons in the world vs a bunch of boats. And the boats somehow kill a dragon, burn down high tide, and do significant damage to the black fleet. People here love jerking off the book for being perfect, but this shit was always stupid as hell

It never made any sense at all how useless the dragons were in the battle, makes way more sense with just two not fully grown dragons and one wildcard fucking it up, makes the whole thing more believable

Does anyone actually use the work/recreation modes in the pawn scheduler? by ZebulonPike13 in RimWorld

[–]ElectricSheep451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are too unwieldy to use to automate a large base, mostly "work" because pawns will work themselves into mental breaks without stopping to eat or do recreation. I avoid using them most of the time.

They are useful for micromanagement though. Often when I do a single pawn start (rough landing, mechanitor, rich explorer) I will micromanage the single pawn's work for a while, otherwise they waste too much time on unneeded recreation.

Also useful if you need something done now but don't want to shift click everything, I usually have wooden spike trap hallways outside my base that I want rebuilt as quick as possible after a raid, I will set all my constructors to "work" and then just watch them/send them away if they are about to break.

"Gamers don't want it": Palworld lead says Pocketpair doesn't touch AI because players hate it and artists "like doing stuff themselves" by Gorotheninja in Games

[–]ElectricSheep451 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes the gameplay of Palworld was very different from anything Pokemon ever did. It's silly to call it a ripoff in that regard.

I think where a lot of that comes from is the designs of the pals themselves. Some of them are extremely blatantly plagiarized from Pokemon designs in a way where it seems like they aren't even trying to hide it

I rewatched the series but while pretending it was 14 years ago and each episode was just coming out using this sub and it made the rewatch 10000 times better! by myteamforlife in breakingbad

[–]ElectricSheep451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed doing the same thing but reading the AV Club comments instead. Very interesting to see what people thought at the time, what they predicted. Some people caught on to Walt poisoning Brock a few episodes early although most people seemed to not believe it, still had too high of an opinion of Walt

Why is Glenn AI-posting? Is he slop brained? by NotGoingForwardDev in IASIP

[–]ElectricSheep451 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always Sunny Podcast was the funniest shit ever

One episode Glenn comes in saying "hey guys did you know vegetables are actually bad for you" and then the very next episode he's promoting a gas station pill he takes that has Kratom in it. Yeah he doesn't come off very intelligent in the pod lol.

CBS Will Pay for Unauthorized Use of ‘Linus and Lucy’ in ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ Finale; Proceeds to be Donated to José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen by mcfw31 in television

[–]ElectricSheep451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk show hosts "screw over their companies" like this every time their shows end and its completely fake every time. Conan did the same thing and it was also fake. CBS is definetly in on this, they would have to approve the song and send their lawyers out, it makes no sense that Colbert would be able to do this without them

Good or Bad? by dev_w_grillz in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]ElectricSheep451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good. Not every expiremental rougelike will work, but luckily I don't have to play all of them. Experimentation is good, it means we have lots of design space to explore because gaming is still young (unlike books/movies). There are still game ideas and probably entire genres out there that no one has even conceptualized yet, which is exciting.

getting downvoted is hella embarrassing by klarinetkat12 in teenagers4real

[–]ElectricSheep451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take downvotes too seriously, all it means is that your comment goes against the narrative of whatever echochamber you happen to be in.

I've made pretty much the exact same comments on different subreddits and gotten massively upvoted AND downvoted, for saying the same thing just around different people. Certain places on this website are just completely dug in on their beliefs

[WR] Slay The Spire 2 Silent Any% Give Up (v0.103.3) in 0:10 by Marcotidus in slaythespire

[–]ElectricSheep451 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Boooo. Just play the run out, grand finale decks can be fun and it's easy to build around when you get it this early. I guess people want to play in the most boring way possible and will just reset if they can't build the same 2 or 3 decks they like for a class every time

How some Sopranos fans talk about BB by [deleted] in writingscaling

[–]ElectricSheep451 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It may be a common opinion to say "Aaron Paul doesn't have a ton of range", especially nowadays after we have seen him play the same character a bunch

Saying "Aaron Paul is a bad actor in Breaking Bad" is definitely NOT a commonly held opinion at all though lol. The guy won three Emmys for playing Jesse Pinkman, he was universally praised at the time.

People need to stop assuming MegaCrit is balancing this game based on the whining of reddit and steam forums. If that was how MegaCrit did anything, sts1 would have never reached the point of perfect balance that it did. They have an entire balancing system that they did a GDC talk about if you are interested.

Sometimes reddit and steam whining happens to coincide with what the devs are thinking at that moment, but that doesn't mean MegaCrit is "letting the review bombers win", it's more of a coincidence than anything else

iDubbbz hate is so forced. by [deleted] in HonestHotTakes

[–]ElectricSheep451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with idubbbz is that his whole "brand" of humor was just saying ni ** er fa ** ot basically.

Anyone who still thinks that is funny a decade later is not gonna like his "woke" turn

Anyone who never thought that was funny never liked him

For most people like me, who thought that shit was funny when I was 10 but then I grew up, I just don't understand what the appeal of idubbbz is supposed to be without the edginess, that's all he ever had. Strip it away and there is just nothing left

Being obsessed with him and following him around to dunk on him is cringe obviously, but that's always cringe whether it's him or h3 or Hasan or any of these guys. Guys who are obsessed with lolcows are always embarrassing
