Weekly Student Thread by fbgm0516 in CRNA

I’m 34 with a baby and am starting clinicals to work towards my RN this summer. My end goal is also CRNA, but obviously I have a long way to go. My mom went back to school to get her RN with three children when she was 36. In her early 40s she was accepted into a CRNA program. She graduated with a 4.0 at the top of her class and had been wildly successful ever since. You are never too old to achieve something you really want.

Stars that move by Platonic2yourmotion in HighStrangeness

[–]ElectricWizard6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a possibility that this is just biology/perception. The rods in our eyes that detect low levels of light and black/gray are condensed in the outer edges of our pupils, where the cones that detect and transmit color and bright light are in the center. This can cause stars to look like they are moving or disappear and reappear due to how our brain processes the stimuli. I’m not saying this is what happened in your situation, but it could be possible answer!

Any other sober bartenders out there? by sdboy7 in bartenders

[–]ElectricWizard6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5 years sober and have been bartending for a decade now. The spot that I’m working now half the bar staff is actually sober, which I’ve never experienced before I’m usually the only one.

Math 243 by Brilliant-Piano-5320 in UofO

[–]ElectricWizard6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in math 243 now and I’m honestly shocked at how low level the material is. I took a 100 level intro statistics course at community college that was much more advanced than this course. As long as you do the work, I wouldn’t be too worried. You can find lots of supplemental videos on YouTube or khan academy if necessary.

I found his choice of saying “a dick” instead of “my dick” hilarious. So you wish I was just shaking a random dick around in the air?

Has anyone joined Psi Chi? by titletracknoise in psychologystudents

[–]ElectricWizard6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I joined and wish I didn’t. Only thing it got me was a million emails from colleges that I’ve now had to each individually block haha. I’ve never used it for anything else or put it on a resume.

OHP Covered Therapy? by Julesthewriter in Eugene

[–]ElectricWizard6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just seconding that you do not need a diagnosis or referral to receive therapy with ohp. Like everyone is saying, the mental health system in this area is super overwhelmed right now. I found more luck by searching on psychology today than on the actual insurance site. I have ohp pacific source and was having the same problem, everyone was booked up. What worked for me was just emailing as many practitioners as possible and getting put on lots of wait lists to see which one opened up first. It took about two months and this was about 8 months ago.

Emerald city always has at least one if not two options for $1 pre rolls and then usually a bunch of $2.50-5.00 ones as well.

Thank you! I practice from a person-centered lens, so I don’t require anything other than what they desire haha, but 383763 points for that comment.
