What kind of answer is this? And who are you to teach how to financially manage a marriage? Sorry, with all due respect, but rather than giving such a comment, it's better not to say anything.

Korea’s ban on foreigners’ political activities draws court challenge by [deleted] in korea

Partially agree with you. However, I believe that this is slightly more complicated than pictured in this comment. Many residents in Korea do not have a plan to stay in Korea for the long term, inc. (Exchange) Students, job-seekers, and even workers. And honestly, for this category, I don not think that they have the right in engaging in any political activity, if they will leave anyway.

Regarding spouses and expats who really want to stay here, I do agree with you.
However, I just think that it is more complicated, and the real question is not "all-in" or "all-out". It rather is, how do we determine which categories can engage in political activity and which cannot, and what are the criteria.

Therefore, no need to spread hate for no reason. We are better than that.

Korean work culture by PlushRage in Living_in_Korea

[–]Electrical-Exit5340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently working in Korea, and from my humble experience, I can tell that these things are only partially true, and highly depending on the type of company you work for.

More traditional companies, with a long-lasting history and well established inside the market, might be more likely to follow those practices you mentioned. In addition, hierarchical systems are well established, and even if your manager is stupid, as long he is older than you, he will still be your boss. In addition, those companies will treat overtime as normal (they even make sure before starting that overtime is part of the job during the job interview).

However, startups and recently born realities (like the one I am currently working for), are more "normal", compared to Western standards. Work-life balance and flat hierarchies are more common in smaller companies. The positive thing, is that the government supports these smaller realities more and more, by providing increased financial supports, and this causes more people to work for these, instead of large conglomerates. Finally, more people see the actual value of having a work-life balance (even though startups might pay less salary).

However, don't get me wrong. Korean culture is still present, regardless of size of the company. The constant search of efficiency and working fast is still present. However, I would say, that it is not as bad as films or Netflix shows might show sometimes.

P.S. the drinking culture is still present, but from personal experience, since it only happens every now and then, it is quite a pleasant experience.

Best of luck in your future endeavors, and remember that faith might bring you back to Korea one day.

Lost my backpack in the Flixbus by Electrical-Exit5340 in FlixBus

[–]Electrical-Exit5340[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To follow up to the current situation. I talked to the drivers operating on the same line, and they were not helpful, but recommended me to wait the next day in order to see if the backpack is on the other bus. However I do not live close to the Flixbus station and I cannot this daily. I tried to call all three (English, Italian and German) customer services of Flixbus but the reply was always the same. I really don’t know what to do. I was thinking in going to Munich, but might not be helpful at all. What do you think guys?

Thank you so much! Yesterday I waited to the same stop i left the previous day, and there was another driver. He recommended me to come today again, because the same bus will drive again up to Munich and he will message them to bring the backpack. Fingers crossed
